Did Wordforge just have it's own version of " Dateline: To Catch A Predator" over the weekend?
Seems like there has been a lot of drama around here recently and amazingly I haven't caused one bit of it.
    What's up with that?

Chris Matthews came out from behind the curtain and confronted Storm.

Storm cut his throat and then led the police on a chase that destroyed much of Nashville. Took Colonel Troutman to bring him in.

Just another installment of As the Wordforge Turns. Though I submit it's too bad the title All My Children is already taken.

Essentially the Immature Dicks of Wordforge were defending their inalienable right to say anything they want to any woman on Wordforge regardless of her age and whether or not she was "asking for it."

Kinda like real life. There are men, and then there are little boys with dicks.

It's amazing, the extent to which you don't understand what this was about. I expect that of LizK, but I always figured you were a bit smarter than the average bear.

I think I'd have a better chance of understanding what it's like to be an underage girl subjected to a constant barrage of super-heated testosterone-fueled bullshit than you would, *Mister*.

How would you feel if TKO were your daughter?

What do you suppose would happen if she were really an FBI plant?

Volpone's not the initiator of the problem here. He was just the final straw.

Storm has always set the pace, and the followers follow. Now you're gonna get all defensive honking about First Amendment rights...on a privately owned message board.

I just think it's funny how so many people are all a-twitter over something as seemingly minor as a thread title change.

I know...I know. "They came for the Jooz and I did nothing..." "Slippery Slope" and all that, but it's still got me giggling a little.

It's like Volp pulled an inverse troll or something.

See, there's the problem. You are looking at this through an extremely biased lens. The outrage has nothing to do with TKO or Volpone. It relates to Listkeeper taking liberties with his post. Ash and Tex and the others, we're all responding to that, not the precipitating event.
I would hope that she wouldn't post at a site like this. I consider this to be an adult website. There are plenty of age appropriate websites for teenagers. That's not the mission of this site, however.
We have no way of knowing such things, but it points out again why teens shouldn't be here. If she's a plant, do you think anybody broke the law by using harsh language?
You are right about the final straw. Listkeeper changing the thread title for no valid reason (and thereby breaking the point of the thread) was perhaps, the final straw. He needs to be fired.

I looked at the thread, read a bit of it and still can't understand why all these people are up in arms. TKO has every right to have been offended if in fact she was and like it or not, Listy can do whatever he wants since he is Mod. What it comes down to is that everyone wants something to complain about and it would seem this past weekend everyone got what they wanted.

I on the other hand celebrated my sister's birthday and graduation. Saturday we had a family cookout and water balloon fight.

This may earn me some negs, but instead of that, what if we all just tried to give a second thought before posting something to or about a poster that we know is underaged?

Of course that is preferable! But if our choice is warning/banning/dealing with in some way the folks who can't be decent, then we need to make sure the folks who can't handle indecency aren't here. I'm pretty sure the greatest value espoused when we set this place up was freedom to speak our minds without looking over our shoulders. When we start to limit that concept, we no longer have Wordforge, we have Interenet bbs # 78,456.

There is speaking your mind and then there are things that border on criminal harassment. Is it that hard to speak your mind without getting totally inappropriate to a teenager?

That said I'm all for age restricting parts or all of the site ( no offense TKO) if only for protecting youngins'. Apparently some of the WF drama has been bleeding into real life for some time now.

No one was warned or banned in this instance, and I recall Volpone saying that if he could have changed the thread title, he would have. But the edit time had passed and Volpone wasn't even online, so Listy changed the thread title.
