Azure, what your thread boils down to is..."What's wrong with THOSE people? Why can't THEY get it together?!"

We have seen this many times from the smug bastards up top.

 Humans are animals, civilization is an artificial construct for herding them into killing each other less often.

Creatures of reason like us are the mutant freaks.

    This world is for them.
    It's geared for them.
    Accept that.
Not doing so only causes pain.

Whoopdey doo, pal. All the oil companies do it, because they've had more problems with the Indians than they're worth. Sure, there are Indians with self-worth who work, but by and large, they know they don't have to work to get a check from the oil companies. They get oil royalties and hourly wages that they don't dearn.

Big shot at a company just can't seem to understand why the lower staff is always so grumpy. Big shot gets car service to and from work. Eats lunch at a restaurant. Just came back from a vacation in Paris. Just got his wife some new tits. Just bought himself a new car. He shakes his head at the sad lowly workers and can't figure out what is their problem.

    Kill them. :bergman:

    Why so much passivity?
I mean, in your dream world, they'd be abandoned to their fate.
    Speed it up.
Gonna wait for the government to do it for you?
    That's a bit hypocritical.
Come on, put your Social Darwinism where your mouth is, and go kill some mothafuckas.

I think poverty is a multi-factorial circumstance which your original post fails to recognize. Some people are very motivated to move up the socio-economic ladder, but made the choice to have a family before thier financial situation warrants it. Some people don't place the same value on work ethics and money as you and I. You will bang your head against the wall for the rest of your life trying to comprehend it or just accept it happens. Instead of suscribing to blanket indictments, just judge the people one case at a time as you encounter them. I grew up in inner city Chicago and I don't know one person who poor because they choose to be poor. Most of them have dreams and aspirations like everyone else, but just have issues implementing them.

PS, from the way it sounds, you didn't do anything wrong and I wish you luck. Your opening statementin the OP is comically tragic, however.

Chances are big shot worked really damn hard to put himself in that position. Big shot probably doesn't care about why his staff is grumpy though, he only cares that they do they job they were hired to do. Big shot knows that if lower staff apply themselves and do their jobs well without acting like entitled bitches, there is opportunity for advancement so one day lowly worker will gain experience necessary to become big shot.

    Chances are.
    It's a dice roll, really.

Blanket assumption just like the ones for the circumstances of the poor.

But without blanket assumptions, how can one spout rhetoric?

Oh look, it's my main man Bobby Ackles (may he rest in peace). I actually met him a few times, great guy.

Do a little reading on him, wouldja sister girl?

Water boy to team president, but that's impossible right?

I don't know if you've had a job before or not, but usually the way it works is if you apply yourself and work hard you get promoted, thus gaining more valuable experience, motivation, skills and work ethic. This only serves to help you out with your career aspirations as it can translate to better positions in other companies or the one that currently employs you. If you're happy with what you have, then so be it. Others work hard to get what they want. People aren't just given these big shot jobs, they work really fuckin' hard for them.

Dude, it could happen. If someone made the sacrifices and commitment to learning the business, helping that business grow while continuing thier education, it could happen.

I started out in this business begging a guy to take a chance on me while I went back to school to learn to be an EMT. EMT turned into nursing which turned into PA... and now after just 10 years, an explosive growth period for this field and several new contracted partners, I am the director of programs over 3 inner city hospitals. A lot of luck, sure, but it could happen.
