With 51% in, Florida is Romney by 100k votes

Romney now up 51-48% in Florida. Looks like its swinging red.

And now those numbers have flipped. I've been expecting to see Romney win there, but perhaps with it this close, things aren't going his way.

Florida's going to be like Ohio for much of the night. They're going to flip back and forth, and someone on each side is going to say "ZOMG YES!", but it will amount to nothing until much later.

I took an exit poll of my dog and two cats. The dog had to poop. Stripes wanted cat treats and Blackie is too busy plotting my death.

Florida polls aren't really closed yet. Everybody that joined the lines before 7:00pm will be allowed to vote. With 4 hour waits, they might not all close until around 11:00pm.

Then you have the panhandle, which is in Central time...

I'm surprised how quickly they called Michigan. I'm also surprised that Arizona hasn't been called yet.

Fox News looks like a death march. They're already making excuses for a Romney loss, including the decline in churchgoing and the US becoming less white.

Without OH (which looks like it will go to Obama), Romney really need PA. It's still early, but the number of ways Romney can get to 270 seem to be shrinking.

In the 12 years I've been voting, I've never seen Florida get it's shit together on Election Day. Maybe someone who has been around longer can tell me if they ever have.

It's amazing that neither Romney or Ryan carried their home state...

Romney will have to win Virginia, Ohio and Florida to have a chance.

Gore did not carry his. Nor Arkansas (Clintons state).

And either of them would've made all he difference in 2000.

Romney surely carried Utah, one of the many states he has a home in.

Ohio's likely to go to Obama. Sure, there's still time for Romney to pull ahead, but most of the rural precincts are well above 50% reported in, while precincts that have Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, are still in the low teens to low 20s.

So, they join the ranks of Walter Mondale and Al Gore, in candidates who've failed to carry their home states in a Presidential election. Not exactly a club one wants to be in.
