    I don't know what you mean... :?:

The only positive from the disaster that is ManUre becoming European champions was seeing 'JT' miss the crucial penalty and sob like a baby.
He has to be the snidiest, dirtiest motherfucker in English football so to see him fail miserably in his attempt to take all the glory was just wonderful.
It brought warm feelings to my heart [/yoda]

Avrem Grant has been fired as manager of Chelsea.

I liked Grant because he wasn't all over the papers on Thursday,
    claiming that the referee had cost his team the match;
as Mourinho or Ferguson would have been.

On Wednesday, the USA national team will play England,
    at Wembley.

Some players likely to represent the USA:

    Tim Howard (Everton)
    Freddy Adu (Benfica)
    Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)
    Clint Dempsey (Fulham)
    Jonathon Spector (West Ham)
    Jay DeMerit (Watford)
    Eddie Lewis (Derby)

England will find eleven healthy players for this match.

I did like the Special One being all over the papers today describing Grant as 'a loser'. Oh yeah? and exactly how many Champions League finals did you reach, Jose boy? :garamet:

    That's it. England wins 2-0.
Nice work by Barry and Gerrard on the second goal.

Not that much competition for England.

Yeah but how many with Chelsea? None. Who stopped the arrogant cunt TWICE from getting there??? :D
Grant did slightly better than the so-called 'Special One' when it came to managing Chelsea in the Champions League. He certainly managed the herculean task of defeating Liverpool in the semi's - with assistance from John Arne Riise.

OK, I should have added 'with Chelsea'.
Grant's record stands up, and he should've been given another season.

Oh, this seems a pretty good thread to post this: I was earwigging an in-depth conversation on the match this morning. Good analysis, particularly of the role of Gerrard and of Rooney's weakness in getting himself yellow-carded.

At the hairdressers, between the elderly woman in the next chair and the girl styling her hair... :borg: I'm the last person to gender stereotype, but I've never come across that before!

Who's gonna win the euro's since Scotland can't do it this year?

I put money on portugal a while back, but im thinking this Madrid pish may have a destabilising effect on the star man. May have to wait till he wins the world cup for them in 2 years now.

OK, the Euro 2008 stuff doesn't really belong here: I'm going to unsticky this thread and start a new one for the competition.
