Grant did slightly better than the so-called 'Special One' when it came to managing Chelsea in the Champions League. He certainly managed the herculean task of defeating Liverpool in the semi's - with assistance from John Arne Riise.

OK, I should have added 'with Chelsea'.
Grant's record stands up, and he should've been given another season.


Oh, this seems a pretty good thread to post this: I was earwigging an in-depth conversation on the match this morning. Good analysis, particularly of the role of Gerrard and of Rooney's weakness in getting himself yellow-carded.
