Unconfirmed but it looks like an ammo dump in Isfahan and a refinery in Azarshahr have gone ‘splody.

    Fighters are scrambled over Tehran.

Hearing that it is a munitions factory not storage facility.

Not sure if it is where the drones being supplied to Russia are produced.

Hmmm...wonder if the Israelis (who have been publicly neutral in that conflict) might have seen a chance to shove one up the collective asses of the Russians and Iranians under the cover of the current unrest in Iran? Anyway...it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day. :)

Iran won't confirm, though I've heard some intelligence analysts saying that it was. An Iranian drone was used in an attack in Jerusalem nine days prior.

And it has been confirmed that the attack in Isfahaeen against the drone facility was conducted by a drone as well. Three of them were launched, laden with bombs, two were shot down.

So my guess would be the Israelis.

But tensions are also high with Azerbaijan, Iran's neighbor to the north, after an Iranian gunman stormed the embassy and killed a member of its staff. The Iranian security forces did not interfere in the attack despite being on site. Azerbaijan has closed it's embassy.

Probably misidentifications, hence 'reports.' Pretty strong evidence that a bunker bomb was used in one of the incidents, and that UAV/drones are involved.

Of course, this all from twitter. So take it with a grain of salt until it can be investigated.

Iraq used to operate them. Saddam flew his Air Force to Iran during the Gulf War to try and keep them from being destroyed and Iran never gave it back.

I agree it seems unlikely they were F-1's, but what fighter/bomber looks enough like it to be mistaken for an F-1? :chris:

I think Iran scrambled pretty much everything they had (both to shoot down anything they could and to prevent them from being hit on the ground) and it was Iranian F1s people saw.

Makes sense. Drones must be awfully hard to see at night, so whatever can be seen is what gets identified. As far as F-1's being museum pieces, well the specs on them are pretty impressive, especially if your enemies don't have any kind of air force at all. In that scenario air supremacy would be a cinch with a couple of Piper Cubs and Beech Bonanzas. Of course that would last until somebody comes along with greater numbers of more modern planes. :clyde:

Interesting. Zelenskyy’s complained that Israel hasn’t done enough to help Ukraine.

Oh, I'm fairly sure if Israel has done anything to help Ukraine then they also benefit. They pushed for Ukraine to accept Putin's demands to surrender in the early days - largely worried that Russian forces in Syria would withdraw their approval of Israeli access to flyovers of Syria in order to hit Iran. And blocked the sale of Iron Dome to Ukraine. As well as weapons it has already been perfectly willing to sell to dictatorships.

Interesting article about a South American Muslim recruited to attend seminary in Iran - and how they attempted to brainwash him. Highlights - they seized his passport. The secret recipe for Iran's Shi'a religion is hatred, especially of Sunnis. Constant gaslighting about basic facts. Demonization of homosexuals. And how the clerics have to hide themselves if they go into the cities as everyone hates them. All the civilians he met while there were opposed to the regime.
