Okay, was invading Ukraine all that bright of an idea to begin with? And do you think that those in the Congressional Putin Caucus will give a shit that Israel doesn’t need the kind of gear that Ukraine needs? Don’t forget all the ones who think that as soon as they can get Israel in a big enough war, Jesus pops out of his hole on Easter, and if he sees his own shadow, it’s Armageddon, baby!
I am sure orange dipshit would be able to solve things real quick if he were in charge, or at least he will tell us all about it soon.
Uhhhhh, that is getting a bit much. That is not good. That is a very very bad sign. This is getting really bad and people need some time to simmer the fuck down.
Yeah... because if history has taught us anything, Arab coalitions attacking Israel always works out well for the Arabs.
I’m seeing reports that ~260 bodies were found at the music festival. Pic is pretty rough: https://x.com/ukikaski/status/1711023344139550996
This is interesting: Remarkable footage from Iran. Iranian regime supporters tried to show their support for terrorist Hamas by enrolling a Palestinian flag during a soccer game, when the audience across the stadium started shouting that they can “shove their Palestinian flag into their rears”. The people of Iran is yearning for freedom from this Islamist Theocracy. Source of video: @khansarinia #Israel #Iran https://x.com/tendar/status/1711111629704761699
WaPo is reporting 260 bodies at the festival. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/10/08/israel-festival-attack-gaza-militants/
There is a fucking special place in hell, and the pineapple ass worms are going to be working overtime with Russia and Hamas.
This is unspeakable savagery. What the fuck is wrong with them? This is going to harden western attitudes towards them, alienate both supporters and potential supporters and provoke massive reprisals against their own people.
Thread on Israeli government’s response (or lack there of): https://bsky.app/profile/omrimarian.bsky.social/post/3kbbet5rdga2s
Sadly that's the least awful motivation I can imagine. I've seen other people suggesting he let it slip through to justify a large scale "reprisal" he was already itching to order. Either way, he's even more unfit for office than he was last week.
WSJ: “Iranian security officials helped plan Hamas’s Saturday surprise attack on Israel and gave the green light for the assault at a meeting in Beirut last Monday, according to senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah, another Iran-backed militant group” https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/iran-israel-hamas-strike-planning-bbe07b25 https://bsky.app/profile/jaketapper.bsky.social/post/3kbbh525bu42j
Link about what? I'm referring to Hamas. There simply is no excuse for butchering civilians like this. If they had targetted only the IDF (as they apparently did very effectively) that would have been fine - if perhaps strategically stupid. But the barbaric rampage is fucked up on so many levels. Not that that should be taken to legitimise Israeli crimes in response, or their record. Lest that conclusion be drawn.
Reminder that Hamas != Palestinians in general. The best thing that Israel could do to undermine international support for Hamas would be to better work with Palestinians in the West Bank, while going hard on Hamas in response to this. Show that the Hamas approach isn't the most productive one. The Hamas attacks on civilians are inexcusable, and they will make the lives of people in Gaza worse, but it's also hard to argue that up to this point they haven't been better at stopping the territorial expansion of Israel.
HAMAS is opposed to the Two State Solution. They believe that Oslo Accords were a step backwards and that it was easier to get countries to support the Palestinians when Israeli occupation was more clear/oppressive. They welcome reprisals and even reoccupation of Gaza.
