Never have been able to figure out the attraction of being "busty". And as such women age, they end up sagging a long way.

Reminds me of a joke I heard:
Q: What does a 70-year-old woman have between her breasts?
    A: Her belly button.

    Ewwww!

Misogynist much? Yes, everyone has their preferences, but to demean women for aging is ... not something I would have expected from you.

I guess that's your interpretation, whether he stands behind that joke as a putdown or as an observation or is just passing it along.

^This. It's a very old joke, and among the more benign "misogynist" comments made in the RR. Knowing the poster's history is helpful in understanding intent. Async ain't that kind of guy. ;)

That's why you had to imagine it in order to see it there.

You really shouldn't condemn people for your own imagination.

to set the record straight I prefer it when a woman's breasts match her general frame size. Suffice it to say I am not a fan of fake/enhanced breasts.

So, insulting someone based on the color of their skin is also in the imagination of that person?

I have known for years that rigorous thinking is not your strong suit, but here you really seem to have gone off the rails. Whatever are you talking about here? When did I ever insult someone based on the color of their skin, even in your imagination?

You really seem to be so desperate to defend your victim complex that you grasp at straws that have nothing whatsoever to do with reality.

I will attempt to translate what I think she is getting at in all seriousness (which is not to say I agree with it). She can add, subtract or otherwise adjust.

Your joke about women's breasts dangling was misogynistic. Misogyny is just as bad as racism, only it is more acceptable to be a misogynist than it is to be a racist in 2020.

When you got called out on your misogyny, you tried to portray that as all in Jenee's feminine head with her female imagination.

If she pointed out that you're compounding the sexism by saying that any reason to take offense was just in her imagination, she thinks you wouldn't care.

So since racism is worse than sexism, she wanted to show something by way of analogy. She expects that you would readily understand how insulting it would be to say to a person of color that the reason they took offense was just in their head. Understanding that, you can then hypothetically appreciate that saying to a woman that the reasons she took offense were all in her head is also problematic.

async is pretending to be obtuse. He does that when caught with his pants down. It happens more as you age.

^ Have you decided to join Jenee is her particular unreality? You sure aren't making much sense, either.

And trying to somehow imply that someone was making fun of people just for getting older, by making fun of him getting older, doesn't exactly strenghthen your case...

I'm older than both a yez, so I get to decide. :dendroica:

Facts of life: Women's breasts sag as they age, some more than others, unless they work out religiously, because breast tissue is primarily fat, but the underlying muscle can be strengthened. The larger the breast, the more the sag. As someone who can't fill a B-cup, I'm trying to have sympathy for the triple-Ds among the sisterhood, but I have no frame of reference.

The majority of menfolk (I'll remind you all that OF started this train of thought) who hyperfocus on breast size are victims of ancestry. In hunter-gather societies, large breasts were associated with fertility (and the ability to live off one's own fat during harsh winters; it's no accident that the majority of the Donner Party survivors were middle-aged women). With a more modern awareness of biology (small breasts have just as many milk ducts as large ones), y'all should be growing out of this phase, but... well... :sigh:

I'm posting this in a spirit of fun and in the hope we can get back on topic, but I expect  from some quarters. Meh.

You seem to be the one to go off the rails.

    You said something insulting.
    I called you on it.
You said it was my imagination
I referenced a similar insult - and here's where you went off the rails. I was not suggesting you insulted someone based on race. I showed an example of an insult that someone else may have responded with the same response you gave - that it was just their imagination.

I believe you and garamet are both getting senile. So, perhaps, I should do as suggested and put you both on ignore.

Insulting to whom? Unless you're telling us the joke was an accurate description of your condition, the joke was generic, equivalent to saying "All men's balls end up down around their knees when they get old" - and about as inaccurate.

Ah, but it's okay for you to insult specific posters on the basis of your hypersensitivity to a joke. :jayzus:

Do you believe it's ok to ridicule someone based on their appearance? I do not. Which is why I said something. If you didn't take offense, why say anything at all? You seem to be under some narcissistic idea that everyone is obsessed with you. But, I believe you have it backwards. You seem to target certain posters, then you become obsessed with them - to the point where everyone on the board is saying "will garamet and _____ just get a room". I'll not play your games any more. Fuck off or actually engage in conversation.

Who is the "someone" in Async's hoary, generic joke?

You're the one who seemed to be under the impression that Async's joke was aimed at you.

Seriously, mods. At some point you gotta be thinking "you know, there's one common denominator to all this". Kirk is gone. Dayton is gone. I've no idea who all the others have been over the years. She still continually brings up myself or Garak in every other thread in attempt to start a fight. Will you, please, do something about her?

Ignore button too hard for you to click?
Is there a raised bit of metal on it that stabs you in the thumb?
Is there an angry dog guarding it?

Did a hobo puke on it?

Sorry, I missed that example you gave. Please post it again, as I didn't see any examples.

If it's as much a stretch of a victimized imagination as most of the rest of the things you take offense to around here, then yes, it will just be imaginary. But if it's actually there, then it's not imaginary.

But since I missed the example you showed (it must have gotten erased somehow, don't have any idea how that can happen), there is no way for me to evaluate whether it is in the person's imagination or is actually true.

It's like asking, "Is election fraud imaginary?" You need the specific example to answer. So since you say you "showed an example", let's have it.
