You'd rather have an EOTech 5 series rather than an ACOG? :wtf: The EOTechs are about $500.0 I've got one. While nice, they aint the cats meow that the ACOG is. I will say that EOTech finally came out with a magnifier to match the holo sight and they have upgraded the holosight so that the controls are on the side now and easier to use. But I'd still take a ACOG over an EOTech + magnifier.

I'm not a huge fan of the magnifier. Good for quals, but for most the distances you're gonna be shootin' give me the bigger sight picture and quicker target acquisition of the HCog.

Last time I was at the range, the infantry bubbas were having to shoot for qual with the ACOGs. Many weren't particularly happy with it. They thought it was pretty good on the 200 and IIRC the 500 as well, but they didn't like it at all on the 300. Guy next to me was like "I've shot back to back expert and this year I barely qual'ed."

'Nother officer I went to Iraq with went back with with a recon unit and he preferred the EOTech to the ACOG as well. (I forget his explanation though.) No one has ever given me anything but the iron sights that came with my rifle. :(

    Larger sight picture
More clearly visible, readily defined sight.
It's easier to train your mind to shoot with both eyes open when both eyes are 1x mag.

    EoTech -3, ACOG - 0.

    EoTech FTW!

Click this. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. At typical engagement ranges, that picture is worth 10,000 words. This alone is reason enough to pick an EoTech over an enclosed system offered by AimPoint or Trijicon.

During a tactical carbine class I took, the instructor, Scary Madison County Narcotics Dude, said that some SWAT instructor over in Jackson bought (with county funds I'm sure) an Aimpoint, an ACOG, and an Eotech, and one by one, picked them up and threw them on the ground as hard as he could.

The Eotech was the only one that still worked.

I don't think it was Chip.

...and now that I think about it, I'm not sure I remember who he said it was...but I'm pretty sure it was somebody in the Madison County Sheriff's department.

    Good.

If Chip did that, I would about feel like this:
Garth Holliday: Why'd you say that Ron? Why? You're my hero. And you say something dirty. Like poop. Poop mouth. I hate you Ron Burgundy, I hate you!
