Who? Nobody's ever heard of this woman before. Her allegations weren't part of the confirmation drama. I've never denied the possibility that some accusations might be false. But one false accusation doesn't invalidate the others.
Yes they were. Try reading the article. "Kavanaugh was questioned about the letter in September under oath and categorically denied the allegations. "The whole thing is ridiculous," he said. "The whole thing is just a crock, farce, wrong, didn’t happen, not anything close." His response to the letter was part of the lampooning that so many lefties were doing on Kavanaugh. It was kind of hard to miss. No, the numerous inconsistencies with their claims accomplished that.
Interestingly, this shows what actually happens with false accusations. When you question the person making them, they tend to fall apart pretty quickly. Which makes hours of sworn testimony in front of a hostile Senate committee more credible, not less.
About truth and justice prevailing? Absolutely. I remain less than satisfied with the investigative efforts here.
Oh, and take note that Judy Monroe-Leighton is not accused of making a false allegation, but of falsely claiming to have written the letter which contained the allegation.
Plainly untrue. But what then did you mean to say when you quoted @Quest? What were you hoping for, if not a full investigation?
These fools are never going to give it up. The accusers blatantly lie, then admit they're lying, and it doesn't matter because the whole point was push an agenda to discredit Trump and gin up outrage to jump-start 2020. This woman, and all the other women, are liars.
Why would it change anything, when nothing about this woman or the letter she didn't write had ever influenced my views?
how could it mean anything? None of us ever heard her name before today because no part of the anti-Kavanaugh discussion was based on this suspect claim. Straws - y'all be grasping at them.
that's the thing about conservatives (and those among us who pretend to be) - even when they win they are still outraged. But somehow everyone else is the snowflake.
Yeah, but seriously... During this whole thing, I only ever heard of three accusers. Ford, Ramirez, and Swetnick. Where the fuck did Leighton come from?
/No evidence to substantiate any of the claims': Takeaways from report on Kavanaugh allegations And there you have it.It was all bullshit.
A Republican committee exonerated a Republican appointee? You don't say! Oversight-wise, these guys remind me of the RA's I had in college who would walk into parties with their hands over their eyes just to make absolutely sure you had time to hide anything they weren't supposed to see.
And y'all are going to about it forever. Your boy's on the bench. Get over yourselves. There's nothing more pathetic than a sore winner. Y'all did the same thing when Dubya was reelected (cue the "I never voted for Dubya" screed). It's almost as if you can't believe you won. Insecurity squared?
Wow, so in an attempt to prove Kavanaugh's innocence and discredit the real accusers, Republicans found some woman who never publicly accused Kavanaugh of anything and made her take the fall for false allegations. Because disproving one person automatically disproves three other people...? By all means investigate this new accuser and pursue whatever legal avenues are available. But this doesn't discredit the other accusers. Unfortunately, the brainwashed conservatives lap this stuff up because it fits well with all of the other conspiracy theories they've been conditioned to believe. Literally this:
It really is disturbing to see the total lack of morality on the part of the regressive Left, they have no qualms about lying, fabricating false allegations of abuse, trying to destroy people's lives. These people are extremely dangerous, and their actions criminal. The Left really is populated by amoral degenerates.
Baldwin is just a garden-variety loudmouth bully, empowered by his celebrity status. One day he'll mouth off to someone who will beat the shit out of him, and I'll laugh myself silly.
