I did not have much faith in a republican woman not going with their guy. Look at all of them going out there and defending a guy who is pretty much a rapey drunk frat guy. All the moderates who thought she had a backbone are just learning what a lot of people do about women who have given into the idea they are not fully human, and agree they are second rate citizens because of their gender.

No it won't work to save her in 2022.

She's on record as voting against Kavanaugh. They only reason she withdrew her vote was as a gift to Daines. If she had not withdrawn her vote than it would have been 50-49. Either way she will be remembered for voting against Kavanaugh. No opponent will let that slide by in the primary.

It secedes?

It has no access to cheap electricity. It doesn't have the ability to make electricity. It has no water, is in a drought and has no water reserves. It has an out of control one-party state government that is bankrupting the state turn into a one-party federal government. Things are not going to get better for California.

It would also face huge movements of people in the state who don't want to separate from the rest of the US.

You would see one of two things:

#1 Most of California refuses to secede with California so California the new nation actually shrinks in size. What you think you're going to be able to take the whole state with you? Think again. Remember all those counties already trying to split from California? What makes you think they want to secede with California into a new nation?

#2 On the off chance you get the whole state physically you would see a mass exodus of people and companies. Your state is already facing that problem. It will only get worse as the new nation sends taxes through the roof to pay for all the new things you need to do to be a nation.

Oh you might be thinking, "well what about our ports and silicon valley and Hollywood?"

#1 Your ports will die. If you think shippers are going to pay the insane new high prices installed by the nuts in your new federal government think again. If you think shippers are going to ship to your ports than drive that cargo across California to the new American border and pay customs a second time think again. Shippers will simply come to the Eastern Seaboard. Or to Oregon and Washington. Or to Mexico. We simply put in a new agreement with Mexico that splits the customs costs so shippers aren't paying double.

#2 Silicon Valley will abandon California. Why? Because right now Silicon Valley is insulated somewhat against the current state government by the Federal government. Once the state government becomes the new feds you will see new regulations and costs go up and drive those companies out of California. Those companies would also face incentives from the US government to come set-up a new Silicon Valley. Incentives that the nation of California would be unable to meet. Like access to cheap electricity and water and low taxes. And those beautiful government contracts. Especially the DOD ones. You know, the ones that provide the big money, because the DOD doesn't usually do business with companies in foreign countries. It does some of course with our allies but for most of it those contracts are for American companies only. Security reasons you understand.....

#3 Hollywood? Already abandoning California the state. Simply way too expensive to film there now as it is. California as a nation? Even those rich liberals running the place would run.

Oh and the US of course would actively encourage everyone who wants to live in the new nation of California to escape the evil US to go. We'd even help move them. How do you plan on dealing with the costs for that influx of dumb hippies?
