I suggest that once this tournament is complete, another one be immediately set up.

Okay. Should I do another 8-player, or would a 4-player work better? Also, how is 2 games per round working? Would 1- or 3-games/round be better?

Dammit...a 41. There were at least 3 strokes I could've lowered the score by. Gotta work those kinks out!

I do much better outside of tourney play, the pressure of competition definitely makes it more interesting.

Maybe we should go ahead and start the 2nd Tourney.

Excuse me for having a job. :bailey:

Anyway I totally choked. I couldn't stay away from the water to save my life.

I don't know how some of you guys can score so low a number. I either hit the ball to hard or too soft.

Well, I went to play my second round and received this message:
    Seems I accidentally disqualified myself.

    :bang:

Count me in for the next tournament!

Hmmm...I am puzzled why both Tex and Ramen show 2/2 games played, yet it hasn't promoted Ramen up into the finals. That, along with Clyde's issue, lead me to believe that the Tournament software is porked (yes, that's the technical term for it...).

Well, I'll play one of my Final games today and see what happens....

Has anyone else noticed a bug on the first hole?
If there is a strong 'downward' wind (over 1.5) the wind seems to have no effect on the ball.....
It only seems to be the first hole.

Nope, hole 7 exactly the same thing.
1.1 wind heading south (down) I shot about horizontal to bounce off the back wall and the ball went perfectly straight, no deviation.. straight through my mouse cursor.

I haven't found that to be the case but I play it differently than you probably do. I use the wind and play a short bounce shot. That part might sound familiar but it's where I put the cursor that seems to make a difference. If I line it up with the hole or behind the hole the wind has far less effect, if I put it up by the river the wind has a much more drastic effect. I've figured it out though and can hole in one on the first hole 2/3's of the time.

I think it might have something to do with my internet connection dropping in the middle of a round. When I went to submit it just kicked me to a blank page. For the record I tied Ramen in score so I think it would have defaulted to whoever had the shortest play time. That almost certainly would have been Ramen because I was working and minimized the game for a while and returned to it.

Well, I played my two final round games, did horribly, but I don't think it'll matter because I'm pretty sure the Tourney is porked since it doesn't have Ramen advancing to the Finals, so I'll probably win by default after a week.

Time for another tourney? Maybe we can get it right second time around?

Yeah why not start one now?

Is 2 tries per round still ok? what about 3?

I like 2, you never know if it's going to really screw you with the wind or something and having a 2nd shot at a good score is more likely to reveal the best player.

"Time and chance happen to them all." The possibility of chance wrecking one of you Junior Tiger Woods' makes it a little more interesting for those of us who haven't shot in the 30s yet. :diacanu:

Anyhoo, I'm signed up for the new one.

Play more, you'll get the 30's in no time. Getting below 37 is hard though, anytime.

    I'm in again!

Yeah, I went thru the game once last week and tried to mentally gauge what a "realistic" ultimate high score would be on this game. Came up with a 28. Don't see how anyone could really get lower without significant luck. As it is, a 28 would be 10 two's and 8 holes-in-one. Zero margin for error. And the majority of the aces (I think 5 of the 8) were on the front 9. Too many tougher holes on the back 9.

Follow the game to its website and I think there are some 19's and 20's in their Low Score page. Who knows if they are real, but if you played this thing all day every day for a while I imagine you would score a low 20's score at some point.

I think I had 7 hole in ones the time I got a 33, but I also had at least one 4 and a few threes.

    http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/arcade.php?do=scores&gameid=158
That's not the game's main site but people there have 29's and the top score guy has a claim of a 28.

My holes-in-one come in streaks. I tend to get 2 or 3 per game or none at all. :garamet:

I'm getting to the point where if I don't ace either #1,2, 3, or 5, it's a bad game. I've got #5 up to about 40% ace rate. Some of those on the back 9, I just don't see how you could ace them without a bunch of luck.
