I had a terrible first round. Personally I think the game purposely drops balls in the water during tournament play. Tied you in the second try at 43 but the game let me go a third time and of course choked on it and scored a 51. So now it's your turn for the tie breaker.
Ill do 'em when I get home. Had some god awful rounds in praccy here at work, even when attempting to concentrate
Hehehe Ill play only 1 round in each and you will lose them all!!!!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA or something like that....
Anything we can do about the corrupted 8-player tourney that's just hanging out there and not going away? It didn't advance me to the second round, even though I won my first round match, and there's not option for me to play or anything. It should've at least timed me out by now, so it's gotta be porked.
I don't think we're going to see many Tournament winners over 38 any more. I think I've got my hole in one on hole 1 up to about 75% now as well.
Just had a 32 that was very very close to a 31. Beatswork was my Caddy as he sat behind my desk helping me make judgments on some of the shots. I literally had 2 of them bounce right over the hole. I only had one 3 that round, I think that's the least I've ever had. I can't remember a round of all 2's and 1's.
I can't remember a round with all twos and threes. I've found that playing the game in IE stops the hiccup that occurs. I'm thinking it might be a Firefox thing. And someone needs to beat Beatswork. Literally. Start with his hands.
He's got about 4 or 5 inches of reach and 30 pounds on me, I think I better start somewhere else to be safe. Oh ya, and I shot another 32 yesterday that was all 2's and 1's. So now I can check that off the list of midi golf accomplishments. It's time for a 29.
Well Dan, I've at least made it a little bit challenging for you in the most recent 4-player tournament. I just shot a 38 to beat your score of 40. I know you've got a least a game or two left available, so go do your worst! (seriously, your worst might give me a chance...) Should've had a 36, too! left one putt just microns short, and had another hit the whole directly on the tee shot, and bounce away oddly.
A baseball bat to the back of the head when he's not looking is a great equalizer. I don't think I can get into the low 30's until I can reliably hit holes one and two in one shot. I've tried everything including the walls and I'm always off aim.
My biggest issue is lack of consistency. I can ace #1, 2, & 5 fairly often, but then I usually do something stupid like hit the water on #4, 12, & 13, or leave putts short, and effectively negate the hole-in-ones that I got.
Damn that was close. had a very average round and was heading for about 40 but did the last 3 in 4 shots. Got the last in one with a 1.5 following and never usualy do that.
My problem is starting to be the opposite. I used to be able to get 1's on almost every hole, I used to get the hard ones as often as the easy ones,... then get an odd 4 to complete the round. Now i never seem to get a 4 or 5 but always play booooring 2's with hardly any 1's. I think Ive gone too conservative...... SHIT
I still have typically one or two 3's in a round but I rack up lots of hole in 1's. I can get Hole One at least 3/4 times once I'm warmed up. I'm getting really good at hole 3 as well. Hole 5 is a gimme I will get 4/5 times on that one, 6 is probably 25% of the time. Beatswork taught me the trick to Hole 4 but I still need a lot of practice to get it down. I'm getting much closer than I used to. Basically I would say I come out of the front nine with at least 3 hole in one's 50% of the time, 4 about 25% of the time, and 2 the other 25% of the time. Then all I have to do in Tournament play is be conservative in the back 9 and I'll win most of the time. When I'm playing for the record I am not conservative unless I'm at Hole 15 and still on a 30 or 31 pace, which I've done 5 or 6 times in the last 2 days. That record isn't going to last much longer. Beatswork is shooting consistent 33-35's, one of us is going to break it soon.
There are 3 distinct ways to play it depending on the wind. If it's coming straight at you from the angle of the hole, shoot right into it, adjust slightly for the wind left or right, but basically you are trying to land it right in the hole with no bounce. If the wind is forward in any direction then you have to play it off the wall. Judging how hard to shoot it is much harder than judging the angles IMO.
