We set our scene at the Shoes home as a visitor drops by. Mrs. Shoes answers the door.

I just showed the pics to my coworkers. I figgered the one woman who used to have a Samoyed would kvell over the pictures of Gabby. Wouldn't ya know all she could say was "OMG is that a real gun?! OMG!! That's not funny! That's a REAL gun?!?! Ew!!!"

How is a real gun offensive or disgusting? That's like getting freaked out by a hammer.

I didn't know your doggy's name for the rep so I named her Frosty. Gabby is my grand daughter's name and my roommate's cat's name. Check out Rusty on the left minding his own business.

Doesn't this and other pictures hurt the image of gun owners in the eyes of the public though? I mean after all you tend to ride people for attitudes that makes gun owners look bad and I'd say that spreading pictures like that around could also make gun owners look bad.

Now the public has one more picture of a "crazy" gun owner.

If anybody sees that picture as anything but parody, then they're a lost cause anyway.

Compare and contrast that one with the one in the original post. Is one worse than the other? Which one? Why?

Personally, it ocurred to me not terribly long ago that, in my opinion, those serious looking, war face, "me and my gunnnnnn" (including that one above that I took of myself) pictures are more than a little creepy.

They remind me too much of this guy, and this guy. Problem is, I'm a gun nut, and I like to take "me and my gunnnn" pics...so I make them a little abusrd to lighten them up and parody most other gun pictures.
