Got an ID from the birders at talkphotography.co.uk Apparently it is a female sparrowhawk Fuckin awesome
That's a pretty bird! I the orange eyes. Here we have falcons and condors, and they are a bit bigger than that one, but no orange eyes.
We have some biggies here, golden eagles (well one) eagle owls and sea eagles, along with lots of small BoPs like peregrines (best animal on the planet) and buzzards
The caterpillars are kind of "meh" but that bridge shot is amazing. Clarity, depth of field, contrast, and symmetry. You've sure got an eye for composition.
Really old stuff in York. The cathedral (York Minster) is about 20 miles big with added extra 'wow thats big'
Dammit, Leach, you make me want to go back to every place I've ever been and get photos like this (as if I could)...
Cliffords Tower, built by William the conqueror over 1000 years ago. Over time various persecuted people have been sent to it.
Walked up 4 lakeland fells yesterday. 9-10 mile walk, 3000+ foot of ascent all in all. Knees are feeling it today
I love it up in the lake district, cant think of anywhere in the world id rather be. Take your beaches and blue skies and warm seas and feck off,... gimme them hills
Well, there are place I would rather be in the world as I've been places that truly are more stunning than the Lake District. The Alps, the Alborz mountains, the Salt Lakes of North Africa, the Sahara. These are places of true beauty. I reckon there most be some absolutely stunning parts of South America as well, and only hope that I get to see them at some point. That said, in terms of terrain I do think the Lake District is far and away the most beautiful place in the country. I love it up there.
Oh Ive no doubt. The 2 most amazing places on earth are the high Himalaya and Antarctica. Do I think the effort is worth the payoff? no The reason I like the lakes is not that they are the most stunning place on earth, but that they are perfect for someone like me. I like being able to do trips in one day
