Quite possibly the scariest day Ive had fellwalking.
Decided to do Helvellyn, via the notorious 'striding edge', scary at the best of times... very very scary when you are hit by a sudden snowstorm!

Oh, just so you know, there is a nearly 1000 foot drop on both sides here :)

The wind wasnt so bad, luckily. Striding edge is the most dangerous part of the Lake District, a few people a year die on it,... and its usually caused by gusts of wind.
It was maybe 10-20mph, which is pretty still for up there

    I rather like this one.
Venus, Jupiter and moon, with earthshine.

Last year we had one of those, except it was really, really wide. Almost too wide to fit in the frame with the lenses most of our photographers have. When one of the was assigned to shoot it and told them that he couldn't fit the ring in the frame, our brilliant evening assignment desk person suggested, "Shoot it from a different angle."

Really? :wtf: What angle besides...Earth...would you suggest, Mancow/Shim?*

    *She's a brutally unattractive female and...others...have come up with those nicknames for...her. "Shim"= she/him.
