Went for a mega walk today, absolutely knackered. I'd already played snooker for 3 hours when i got dropped off to the north of Lancaster and walked into the surrounding countryside to get back to my house in the south of the city. Musta walked bloody 7 or 8 miles me feet are killing me Got some nice shots though, heres just a few
Dan, do you have any idea why that road suddenly veers round that field? Obviously not one the Romans built!
Steepness, the road would have to go to about 1:3 to go up straight That sharp corner to the left is brilliant in a Mini
OK before anyone says owt, i know this looks crap. I know i know. But it is, in fact, very cool. I finally managed to try out my telescope attatchments tonight, unfortunately there is bugger all to look at in the sky (no moon or planets) and this crappy diffuse blob is in fact........ drum roll... the andromeda galaxy... .... believe it or not
Coupla moon shots from tonight. Just came in to recharge the camera battery Im gonna try a long exposure sky shot later, see if i can get a star trail piccy
Good day out today. Went to the park, in the butterfly/bird house and mini-beast house. It was almost impossible to take pics as it was over 100f and almost 100% humidity in the tropical glass house. Great place though im definitely going to go back
Do you shoot in manual at all, or is it fully automatic? The reason I ask is that some of your photos appear to be just slightly underexposed. Bumping it up a stop (or only half a stop, in some cases) would do the trick.
Fully manual or aperture priotity usualy. Most of the time im fighting against some very low light and dont want to go too long on exposure
Inspired by some kind words i thought i'd find some of my other pics that i havn't touched up or put online yet
Just picked up this lens. 100mm macro, f/3.5, AF. I'd post some shots, (in another thread, since this is really Dan's thread) but my D70 is well and truly dead at the moment. Thank god for a decent warranty. Right now all I've got is an N65, which shoots film. I'm really liking the shots I'm able to get with this. This, the 28-80 kit lens, and the 50mm prime f/1.4 lens I'm planning on getting myself should be all I need for this camera, and this plus the 18-70mm f/3-4.5 kit lens and the 70-300mm f/4-5.6 cheapie telephoto should make for a pretty spiffy setup with the D70. Of course, getting the right depth of field is an enormous PITA... can't even get that little piece that holds the tab onto the soda can entirely in focus at f/3.5. Fortunately, it goes to f/22, though I'll doubtless need a tripod for anything but direct sunlight.
I think I know why you're not sure - the, what are they, remains of a jetty? bits of wood end at almost the same level as the far shore. Makes the eye think it might be two pix for a second. Might work better if you cropped the far shore out of it... Still a bloody good pic, and better than anything I could take!
Woohoo!!! I just sold another pic! Its the 'Lancaster view' pic from the fotolia link in my sig Thats 2 in all the same as van gogh sold in his lifetime muhahaha take that van!
Some Xmas dinner pics. My dad came over (even though him n me mum have been divorced for 20 years ), my bro has been drinking all day and my mum has been fretting Great day, lots of food wine and silliness
First try at a star trail shot. Just as i was getting the hang of it and about to get a really good one the cloud came in. So this is the best i got. Next one will look awesome
I don't know what a star trail is, but that is an AWESOME pic! I set it as the wallpaper on my computer.
