You're more charitable than I am, I don't believe for a second that the damage done to the U.S. economy by Pres. Obama's policies are errors or mistakes, but his desired end result.
Apparently it was SEALs....HOOYAH!!! NBC reports that a Pakistani government may have supplied a chopper to the operation. Sounds like the Pakistani's decided bin Laden had outlived his usefulness. 8 months between first tip and operation suggests a lot of stuff behind the scene.
Obama deserves credit on this one. Made it a priority, and gave the "go" order. He didn't just luck into this one.
On the way home heard it was in a mansion in the cloak room by Col.Mustard. But seriously it was in a mansion, by US forces shooting him in the head, and it happened today. Since Osama was using couriers I'd bet we finally managed to get a tip on one of the couriers which was the lead Obama talked about.
Heh. CNN briefly zoomed in on the crowd outside the Whitehouse. The Photog centered up on a guy holding up a t-shirt that said, "Thank you President Bush"
Of course they had to brief certain members of Congress prior to the announcement which resulted in the news leaking immediately. Obama is going to score huge political points for this and he took a lot of credit for it during his speech.
Absolutely, if this had gone sideways, he'd have gotten the blame, so give him the credit for a good job here.
By far the single event that will be most remembered historically about Obama's presidency. I think there will be two major events remembered historically, one that he was the first African American elected to the office of President and two the death of Osama Bin Laden. In that order.
The Good: Osama is dead. The Bad: Four more years of Obama. The Ugly: Geraldo Riviera all over the television.
We need a national holiday built around this. Sales at the mall. American shit. BBQ. Watermellon. Grape soda. Fireworks. Baseball. Sex with dolphins.
Brett was talking with Greta and one of the other correspondents, and brought up the fact that the compound where OBL was in hiding is a Pakistani 'military HQ district', and that the indicators are the the Pakis knew where he was all along... Then all of a sudden, somebody yaps in Baier's ear and they cut away to go listen to the crowd outside the White House for a few seconds. When they come back in, they go to Gen. McInerny and the WHOLE TOPIC IS DROPPED LIKE A HOT POTATO. I think there is some definite 'spin' going on here with regards to the Pakis. I think they're trying to keep the proverbial lid on this particular subject, and the truth is that the Pakis have known where he was for quite some time now... This is going to be a very tender topic for the State Department for a while. After all the money spent and all the effort expended, how we 'handle' Pakistan in the near future is going to bear close watching. Obama's remarks were telling as well.
Maybe not, remember George Bush (41) was on top of the world after Gulf War I, a lot can still happen between now and November 2012, like $6-7 per gallon gasoline.
Yeah I wouldn't count on this giving Obama four more years. No one who is against Obama is suddenly going to switch sides and vote for him in 2012 just because of this killing. Especially if gas keeps climbing.
