NBC reported that the Pakistanis may have supplied a helicopter. It sounds to me like there is a deep, deep schism inside the Pakistani government. ISI has always been pointed at as a hotbed of al Qaeda spies and I gather they were cut out. Notice that Obama DID NOT say that he had Pakistan's permission for the operation. Sounds like some sort of "plausible deniability" at work there. If you want to be a conspiracy buff you can say Fox is trying to figure out how to spin this to avoid giving Obama too much credit (even they can't avoid giving him some) however I think it's more likely that they're just trying to get their shit together and trying to get on to the best overall course of coverage. Oh yeah, and Geraldo is a shit head.

Agreed. People have short memories. By November 1980, Camp David was forgotten. By November 1992, Gulf War I was forgotten. The economy will count for 90% in the next election; this will actually make the difference about which way people vote only for a very, very small percentage of people. Many who will say it is a good thing and Obama clearly deserves some of the credit for it (which is true) will also say that it still is not enough to make it worth voting for him (which is also true).

What I'm more interested in at this point is how long Pakistan knew, how long the White House knew that Pakistan knew, and what "deals" have been made during the past few years to keep the situation quiet. It is even possible that Bush and Obama were both hiding some dirty secrets in order to obtain Pakistani cooperation in other areas.
