The only way I can think of that they can work Hayden in and not fuck up continuity, is if they do flashbacks to Anakin during Clone Wars, and/or have him in the Vader suit like in Sith for what he's up to now. BUT, he can't ever run into Obi until ANH. Like, maybe a Jedi that Vader's hunting goes to Tatooine, and meets Obi, but Vader just keeps missing him somehow.
Fuck me am I excited for this I'm interested to see how they work in Vader since technically the first meeting between Obi Wan and Vader since the unfortunate delimbing/burning incident was on the Death Star in ANH
Vader can still show up looking for Kenobi (he knows damn well he's alive) as long as there's no chance for an actual duel or dialogue between the two. Even near-misses like "Vader marches into the room and flings his saber at Kenobi, but he parries it as he jumps onto the waiting shuttle" would be fine as it doesn't really meet the level of "when last we met" as far as Vader's meaning in ANH.
Kenobi might have schooled Vader at HORSE, and Vader's been perfecting his trick shots ever since. But Palpatine wouldn't agree to putting a basketball court on the Death Star, so instead of demanding a rematch Vader has to resort to getting stabby.
I didn't spot anything in the Latin alphabet that wasn't an obviously not meant to be in the final shots.
As a parent, here's my idea on what's going to happen. Owen tells Obi-Wan "Don't train Luke in the force. In fact, we will raise him." Luke does something stupid and is nearly killed, but Obi-Wan saves him. Next week, Luke does something stupid and is nearly killed, but Obi-Wan uses the force to save him. Next week, Luke does something stupid and is nearly killed, but Obi-Wan uses the force to save him. Etc., etc., etc., right up till Owen and Beru are killed and Obi-Wan says to a dead Owen "I told him to let me train him".
I don’t know if this has been done, but for some reason this makes me think there should be a Robot Chicken where Vader and Kenobi are on the Maurey Povich show and Maurey tells Kenobi he is not Luke’s father and he jumps up and down screaming, I told you bitch!” at Padme.
