It is exciting that they're blatantly hinting they found a way to cram a third Anakin/Vader Obi-Wan fight into the canon.

It seems Disney + pulled the official teaser trailer because it was leaked early. It's actually the second one I've seen this week.

You seriously thought this was the actual trailer?

And that CGI Mace Windu at the end was part of this live action series?

    That's pretty incredible

Not to mention it had scenes from Rogue One and TFA.

Seems that the scuttlebutt today is that Rupert Friend is playing Grand Inquisitor in the Obi Wan series

I think I've said it here before, but The Mandalorian doesn't really feel like Star Wars to me because it lacks the John Williams touch.

I like it. It just seems weird to see that world without the music I associate with it.

Well....the way I look at it, John Williams was never the SOLE musical voice of Star Wars.
When you really think about it, you've also got the Cantina Theme, Jabba's Palace Theme, the Ewock Yub-Nub song, nevermind all the weird shit in the Holiday Special.
If Jefferson Starship can sing Light The Sky On Fire, the Mandalorian theme is just fine.

I hope Williams squeezes in some prequel themes.

Williams, IMHO, has lost his edge in recent years. I put the John Williams Pandora station on while I was doing work around the house and began to notice that in all the stuff he did after TPM, he recycled a lot of his material from his earlier career.

I don’t mean that he’d used snippets of older SW music in the prequels or the NT, that makes perfect sense. No, he was using snippets from SW in non-SW movies, which doesn’t make sense.

I love both The Mandalorian and Boba Fett themes. Also, Rogue One had an excellent score.

None of them had Williams involved, but IMO they definitely felt like Star Wars.

And let's not forget that Williams scored the prequel trilogy, which had a largely underwhelming soundtrack other than "Duel of the Fates".

    No. Just. Fucking. No.

Not with Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.

I thought so too, but I don't think Kenobi is that powerful and I don't think the poster is to be taken that literal, although it would explain why him and Vader are so weak by the time of ANH.

I liked how the hand-drawn Clone Wars series overpowered Grievous before they saw him in ROTS, so they had Mace Windu crush his lungs to give him his coughing problem, and hunched walk, thus mating it up to ROTS.

This is just my opinion, but it seems to me that when Jedi use force powers to an extreme, like taking down a Stardestroyer, it weakens them or exhausts them. So if there's a huge force fight with huge objects being flung around and both Vader and Kenobi are seriously injured then it would match up with the slow paced lightsaber duel seen in ANH.

A closer look at the poster shows the SD isn't crashing - it's hovering over an army of Stormtroopers. So I guess the intent is to show the massive military forces arrayed against Kenobi, plus Vader's shadow looming over it all.

Vader's obviously hunting him down, I just don't think Kenobi's going to take on the entire 501st. I'm sure there will be some good fights though.

Entertainment Weekly is ending as a paper publication, and going all digital.
Kenobi is their last paper issue.

    https://ew.com/tv/obi-wan-kenobi-first-look-photos/

Looks like they're going to dance around Vader not meeting Kenobi directly by him sending out Inquisitor Reva.
    So, Inquisitors are back.

And the death of the publishing industry continues. :sigh:

...Although, to be fair, EW is a shell of its former self anyway. I used to subscribe to it back in the 1990s when it had actual entertainment news versus what is now: one giant advertising rag/shill for the entertainment industry.

(Kind of like how The Learning Channel and History Channel used to actually be about learning and history, before they became cesspools of reality television.)
