At least on the evidence so far they won't put you out on penalties........ it will be over within the 90.

Why, because they beat mighty Australia? If England get their shit together I would fancy us to beat the Germans.

Meh, if, if, if. I don't see us mauled, but we're fully capabale of flushing this down the loo. Plus, it would seem almost set that it'll go to penalties! ;)

Unfortunatley your link is a day late.

FIFA noted lastnight that as long as the horns don't happen during the anthems, then they go ahead. Its cultural supposedly.

    I'de ban them personally!

It's not a cultural thing. This is a load of shite FIFA are coming out with. These stupid horns have only been around for a few years in SA, they're hardly "ingrained in the history of South Africa" as some dumb fuck FIFA man said recently.
If you can't hear the crowd for the entire 90 minutes because of some god-awful sounding instrument, something is wrong. It's not a football atmosphere IMO. No singing, no cheering, no chanting, no audible excitement when a player performs a nice trick, or the groans of a bad miss etc. no nothing thanks to these vuvubongo's.
They've only contributing in making an already boring tournament even less tolerable!

No, because they trounced Australia, while your mob could only draw with USA. Now I'll grant you that USA are a handy team, but they are no world cup winners. On Saturdays evidence, England cetainly wouldnt have put 4 past the Aussies.

    A good chance.

Very boring tournament so far. Hopefully Brazil and Spain provide some entertainment and goals when they play their matches.

Ooh, been looking forward to Chile - Honduras ever since the draw was made! :D

Not really. But I am looking forward to seeing Spain. Finally we'll get some entertaining football from a team I don't despise.

Im listening to it at work, sounds one of the better games. Chile sound like they are an expansive adventuroues team, actually trying to win the game.

    Mon the Chile!

I watched the game online. My boss doesn't mind it so much, he knows it won't make any difference to my productivity, or lack thereof. ;)
And Chile were very good to watch, constantly attacking and really should have hammered Honduras. Their approach makes a change from the negative shite some teams have served up so far.

Agreed, looks like they didn't hammer Honduras because they didn't want to, though the Honduran goalie did have one pretty sweet save.
To say Honduras got owned would be an understatement, and there's two reasons why that happened.
    1. Honduras was never that good
    2. Chile got a new manager I think, some higher up who came in and re-did everything. The team went from sucking balls to winning a decent amount, and they had some nice plays and were very consistent.

I don't know why all the Honduran stations are playing commentary now. There's not much to say, we got up at 5 AM to lose big time.

I watched a few minutes of some game in between simulator sessions yesterday and quickly re-affirmed my belief that behind cricket, soccer is one of the most boring possible sports to watch.

Bring on football season! (REAL football- not soccer!) :P

Biggest victory in Swiss soccer history! A blowoff! Sensational...

The Spanish were better of course, but they have underestimated us, have been arrogant and have forgotten that even small teams can be a challenge when they fight like we have been fighting today. The Spanish superstars were just unable to break through our reduit. And our goalie had the best day of his carreer.

This loss will teach the Spanish a lesson. They may have the best players in the world and their team is worth many, many hundred million Euros, but when you do not fight, you can lose even against a small team with no real stars. However, I still think that the Spanish will win the cup in the end.

Hopp Schwiiz! This is a great day! The whole country is celebrating. I'll go and have some beers myself now. All the people are partying in the streets.

I was too busy recovering from a hangover to swap Klose for Forlan, who has just scored two goals... sigh.

Anyway, didn't think I'd get to change to re-air my old line of "Swiss Roll (over)", so thanks Spain!

Cant believe that they would schedule Argentina for lunch time and stick France in prime time. Even logistically, Argentina the late match would make it much easier for Argentinians to watch!

What a game it seemed anyway, and from the bits I saw, coupled with how well they seemed to play their first match, I don't think Engerland can win this world cup!

Lets hope these second sets of games all swing into action like that one!

^FIFA playing fair I think, they want every team in the groups stage to have played in each of the three time slots, and with round 3 only taking up two of those slots (final games in a group played simultaneously) they had to juggle a bit.

Just need Spain, England and Italy to up their game this round and next - they're the only ones slacking in my accumulators!

Maybe I erred in hedging my bets with Group A and just gone for the gut feeling Uruguay winning it, and used my second bet on Italys group :marathon:
