1 pound, NAY, one penny is too much to ask when services have been rendered and money is owed!

Which allows you to repeatedly evade a civic duty.

Again, much like Storm and his appraiser pal. If you've got it, use it...no?

I do hope you are being sarcastic. I will note that if a private individual killed someone over 62 pounds they would be brought up on charges. "They owed me money" is not a legal defense.

I'm not using it; the lawyers are. I'm not in any way participating in their decision making.

Like a man sitting still in the middle of the street evades traffic when the cars dodge him. In other words, not at all.

Not at all. I show up on time, sign in, and follow instructions. I'm not responsible for attorney bias.

In the strictest sense, jury duty is evading me.

That implies action on her part. Simple inaction of not changing her name doesn't constitute evasion in my book.

But she could potentially change her name.

Not suggesting she should. She has a favorable name, Storm has a favorable friend.

Whether a benefit is inherent or cultivated isn't important.

As emended above, jury duty is evading me.

Tell me, is the yield from your money tree in direct proportion to the amount of bullshit you shovel onto the soil around it?

    You're right.

Garamet, it's time to change your name to Margrat O'Jsimpsonwassetupalienskilledjfkwithraybeams-Ikillhobosforfunandsportski.

Anything less means you hate America.

I never said she hates America...just that she's avoiding jury duty.

Fate has provided her with the means. Does that mean everyone is entitled to a name that prevents jury duty? The system would collapse if everyone got to avoid jury duty.

You still haven't voted or expressed an opinion on how things like this should be handled. Personal attacks against other posters seem to be the best you can muster. What is your relevance to this thread?

Well, you see, I put a virus in an attached file that causes your browser to crash if you read a Storm post. Or, at least in marathon's mind that's what I did.

Of course the rest of marathon's post makes no more sense. How my alleged high horse could in any way turn Storm's irrelevant nonarguments into sound arguments is beyond me. That I am harsh in my criticism of Storm in no way improves the quality of what he has to say. If marathon wants to judge me by the tone of what I say that's fine, but if he judges Storm by the tone of what I say then marathon's an idiot.

Blah blah blah. Still not answering questions? You really do like the word "propertarian" though. You remind me of an exotic parrot only dumber and less colorful.

Storm hasn't voted. Don't see you harassing him.

I'm with Tamar. Don't believe we've got the whole story here. And, odd as it may seem around here, I don't make snap judgments based on incomplete information.

I'll change it to "Gollum" if you prefer.

Gotta yield to your superior expertise there.

I always like it when marathon uses the same obtusiveness garamet uses in the thread and the resulting rolling of eyes and snarls from her lapdogs. :ramen:

Now if I'm lucky, I'll be brushed off or given a Latin lesson. :walz:

You don't make snap judgements based on incomplete information? Really? Then why are you foaming at the mouth at Paladin when the man said IN HIS FIRST POST that the tech on the scene should have acted differently? You have instead decided to judge someone's character by the information you gathered in half of a single post. Call people cute names like "Gollum" all you want. Unfortunately, the only names I can think of to describe your behavior are "hypocrite", "liar", and "moron". It lacks artistry, I'll admit but there is no substitute for truth.

Only name I think to call you is "Tex's toadie".

Usually proceeded by "oh here comes...".

But I only say it to myself.

    I don't like making trouble.

Look now, I told you, I don't like to make trouble.

Now, go sink into Tex's cold, cold, shadow, and feast on the funguses that grow there.

    Everyone will be happy.
