We the people of the Wordforge, in order to form a more perfect board, make this place not suck, provide for the common defense through rep and promote the general welfare DO ASK YOU TO CHANGE THE REP BACK TO WHEN IT DIDN'T SUCK.

ELIMINATE TAMAR'S INFLUENCE ON REP!

As you can see from my posts I am very new here, so new that I've no idea what the rep thing is all about, let alone why there is so much contention about it changing.

So please educate me.

Thanks for the welcome!! And I will say I did try the search function earlier but when one doesn't know exactly what words to search for there are no answers. "rep" got me squat ... any suggestions?

It was this really boring video game where people thought shooting little red dots at people they didn't care for harmed them.

And no, the dots didn't make a "pew pew!", or a "pkkkhh!!", noise, or even move, they just sat there.

People got as wrapped up in this whole deal as "Farmville", or "Angry Birds".

People are fuckin' nuts.

The modship disabled the video-gamey part, and now it's just an instant message sorta thingy.

The nuts have gone further off the deep end as a result.

The whole thing has the smell of a sophisticated social-psych paper behind it.

To get back to the topic at hand...yeah, for once I agree with Apostle. Red didn't need changing. It's the same game that's been played for six years, and plenty of folks from PBM and Reno Floyd were among the first "victims." And the rule back then was "If it's in the RR or Gray Room, it's okay." Because trolling is okay. And it should be now.

Guys, look. I'm committed to trying this for a few months. Especially once we get the last tecnhnical bugs conquered and do the "reset to ten" thing. If it looks like the change didn't do anything, we'll change it back. Or maybe do something else different. All this sturm und drang just makes the point of the anti-rep crowd.

No, not really. They've been whining all along, but whenever a poll is put it it's shown that most people liked rep just the way it was.

That's what bothers me the most. We post poll after poll and they all say the same thing, and it's not just the repwhiners voting. So why change it?

it is now a watered-down, weak ass version of a game that used to be fun. i've been told several times that it isn't a game, but it obviously was for some of us. oh well.

I'm really disappointed in the way this was handled. It's the first time I've felt the admin saying "Fuck you" to everyone.
