My chili takes about a day and a half to make; the end product is a homogeneous substance in which individual ingredients can no longer be broken out. It becomes a whole new element on the periodic table. It's name is Awesome.
My mom made great chili, though I always had to push her to keep it thick. "Just like on the commercials, mom, you gotta be able to eat it with a fork." It was especially good after it had sat in a pot in the refrigerator for a few days. A traumatic memory from my childhood is the day I came home from school, knowing my mom was making chili, anticipating a big bowl with cheese and crackers. My mom had to run an errand or something, so she left my aunt (her sister) in charge of the chili. My aunt evidently thought it would be better with about A GALLON OF WATER added to it. Thin bean soup was the result. I was devastated. I may need therapy.
Right? I was going the same speed traffic always goes in that area, only it was the last day of the month and I didn't see the speed trap. :/
that's what's so intriguing about it - it's either pedal-to-the-metal or stopped dead in your tracks. That's why my county (georgia not california obviously) has so many bad wrecks. It's mostly congested roads with a 45 MPH speed limit except for intersections - so often it's 45 or stopped and little in between. That explains why the biggest percentage of billboards are advertising lawyers!
punk's not dead but it does have to get up to pee in the middle of the night. Mr Goof's 61st celebrations....
Family fun I'm missing. My oldest nephew's younger brother visiting with his family in SC, punching holes in bad guys in the back yard.
Another Messerschmitt for the collection: http://www.inpayne.com/models/planes/109g10-njg11.html There's some questions about the purpose of the paint job. The kit instructions say it was a night fighter with NJG 11. German night fighters went with the pale blue (RLM 76), usually with dark gray splotches. But the Squadron In-Action book, which has a photo of the real plane, calls it a special high-altitude escort fighter. They would fly top-cover for the heavily armed Fw-190 Sturmboks that were designed to attack B-17 formations, and were too heavy to maneuver well. I've yet to find a definitive answer.
And that makes the 13th 109 on my 109 shelf. Room for one more in the back row. Too bad I have about 35 unbuilt kits left to do!
Got some replacement decals from a Ukrainian model kit company. This envelope looks like it had some adventures between there and here!
A fair amount of sanding and polishing to go (once the paint cures), but we're getting there.* *You don't want to know how long my punch list is.
