Alternate timeline where the U.S. operates under strict isolationism: "Why won't the US help anyone else?"
The US acts to further it's own interest and plays that as being help. Sometimes it's a convenient fit.
Typical right wing lies. Yet we are told the Biden Bros are much better than the right wing even though they pedal the same memes and lies that come from trumpanzees. I am again reminded there is no difference between a biuden bro and the right when the same lie is what we have seen from rightforge all the time. Look mr. right wing evildoer. Any day you want to give up your socialist policies and live in the old west while MAGAing like a trumpista feel free to GTFO. Until then Police, fire/rescue, schools, medicine, roads, and many other items which do much better under leftists than they ever did among capitalism and conservative american corruption are a certain sign that socialism accomplishes much better results for the community when properly applied, and capitalism leads to things like slavery, child work exploitation, exploitation of the workforce, racism, rampant corruption, inequality, crime, piss poor education, the exploitation of the sick, and far more death and genocide than the best any communist or socialist has ever done. Let us remember that under american capitalism blacks, women, and the poor were not voters under our original constitution, and it took bloody riots to get them to that minimal level. They still are not equal in pay, rights, or freedoms under our capitalist overlords. Under capitalism the original owners of the land were striped of their possessions by white superiority. Now our capitalist overlords gfive them small gifts like changing the names of white owned sports teams, along with marginalizing them in poverty so the rich can exploit them for many more years. The rest of the world has medicine where anyone can get it, and the US breaks the backs of everyone just so they can get basic medical care. Remember we have things like OSHA, child labor law, the FDA, government regulation, and what little standards we have because capitalism operates as a criminal enterprise exploiting and stealing what it can when left up to capitalist ideals. When you lo0ok at basic morality socialism is good and capitalism has forever fed the desires and exploitation of evil. America is literally burning due to capitalistic ideals and corporate exploitation. Someone should just tattoo trumpanzee right on your Biden bro forehead.
The greatest injustice the world has ever seen? I can dislike something, even hate it, without engaging in useless hyperbole that diminishes things like the Holocaust.
"Injustice on the largest scale humanity has ever seen" does not mean greatest injustice, it means most widespread injustice. Words mean things.
Probably not. Iceland has pretty strict immigration laws (if you're over 50, you can forget about it, unless you marry a local, and then maybe they'll let you in). Also, when Sweden did the same thing a few years ago, the companies were so impressed with the results that they made it very difficult for anyone to work more hours. I wouldn't be surprised if companies in Iceland didn't adopt the same attitude.
Wow, my 13-day-in-a-row stretch (with less overtime than you'd think due to pay periods) is suddenly looking a little... oppressive.
No one actually said Iceland's strict policy was okay. But adjecent to your point, I do think that strict immigration laws worldwide are a huge issue--its not just an American problem.
Having to work is one thing. Having to work more than 40 hours a week to make ends meet is another. I don't mind working overtime. I'll be damned if I have to in order to pay the bills. Too many jobs demand excessive hours for not enough pay, and they know they have the workers over a barrel.
