Your whole point was that social norms needed to be protected because it makes people uncomfortable to change. You did not make any carve outs. In reality some of the instances where people were most uncomfortable and violent over social norms changing were in the areas of bigotry.

You could have said that sometimes we need to change social norms like segregation despite the anger and disgust it causes to the racists, but you didn't. In this case in particular it is the social norms that trans people are not allowed in cis spaces that is beijg challenged where you are arguing we have to worry about the feelings of transphobic people because it is the social norm to feel that a trans person is disgusting and not welcome.
