Some of us were trying to do just that, and it apparently made things even worse. Ask some people, they'll say my efforts to give as good as I got were/are damaging the board. No, he's, at least partly, correct. You've got your own band of 'flying monkeys'. As I said before, you don't do a lot of derailing or negging (well, maybe to some people). What you do is say you're going to do it, and your 'flying monkeys' do the actual negging for you.
