Yes, but Exchange prices are insane.
Things worth 500 energy get sold for 50,000 energy by most people.

There was a Mark I Photon Torpedo Launcher for 150,000 energy when you could go to the vendor and get one for 750 energy.

Open bank place one Tribble inside and eight bits of food.

Leave for 24 hours and you get loads of tribbles,

    Awesome!

I wish I would have screencapped it, but my cruiser just took on 3 Negh'Var warships, 3 Birds of Prey, a crapload of those fighter things, and 2 K'tinga battlecruisers and won. :D

I came out of it with no shields and 23% hull rating, but I kicked ass! :D

What do you guys think about the possibility of a small death-penalty?
Something like D2 where you lose a small amount of credit or something.

I would be against it. There are too many fleet dependent missions, and when you show up no one else is there, which means you have to do it all yourself. A penalty on being destroyed would make people get very frustrated needlessly.

I'll try to leave a note here the next time I log on. Might be willing to fleet up, but I'm sure everyone else is already out of my league.

^ The nice thing about Fleets are that you could join, we could do a mission, and our combined work gets you skill points and helps you level up faster. I'm still Lt. Commander Level 1 (there are ten levels each rank). Some of my friends have already hit Commander Level 5. I don't know how they do it, but I do know I'm having fun. Last night, some friends in the TBBS fleet got together (me too), and took out the IKS Karg and escorts on a mission in the Regulus sector. I gained a shitload of skill points (that's what helps level you up) and had fun taking out a Klingon despot. It was GLORIOUS. :D

Afterward, I traveled over to nearby Deep Space Station K-7.
Seriously, the game is a lot of fun and ranking happens reasonably quickly.

Is there some sort of club we can form to talk to each other more easily? A ST MMO and being able to play with the people on WF has been a dream of mine for some time. (I am ashamed to admit. :flow2: )

In EVE Online, dying can cost you a great deal, both financially and, if you are not careful, in time you have spent training skills.

As a result, dying in EVE seems to be a very effective means of education, and to me, increases the satisfaction level when you succeed at something and survive.

I have difficulty imagining deriving satisfaction from a game you cannot truly lose. It would be akin to playing baseball and not keeping score.

So this game is FUN? Until reading this thread, I had only heard awful things about the game. I mean, truly awful things. Like the whole thing not being any fun at all. 0_o'

The complaint I have about this game though, is you can't just be a merchant with your own little ship to start off. Starfleet is something you should have to work towards by first joining Starfleet Academy, working through the simulations, then getting your first ship.

By giving you your first ship, it kinda cheapens the experience, and what if you want nothing to do with Starfleet or the Klingon Empire? I just want my own rinky dinky ship to haul cargo from one planet to the other.
