Not that the Han Solo movie will follow Ann Crispin's trilogy, but among the few dozen extended universe books I've read, his story was among the most satisfying. I'd certainly enjoy seeing how Obiwan aged 40 years in 20, but there has to be a lot of magic in Han meets Chewie and other tales of the rogue smuggler with a good heart.
Shit, you thought the search for Nu-Spidey was huge, brace yourself for years of Nu-Han casting rumors.
So basically Disney are doing a case grab by doing origin stories for famous characters. Next up, Boba Fett, then Yoda. I know what young Han looks like, and with Ford having just returned to the role I'm really not sure I care for the story of when he met Chewie and/or gained the Falcon. I was really hoping that Disney would use the anthology series to tell stories about brand new characters. While Rogue One has them, the movie itself is, again, drawing on elements of the OT by having it be about the Death Star plans. In fact the only story about existing characters I'd be interested to see would be middle age Obi-Wan with McGregor back since it wouldn't be any origin bullshit. But, it's such a huge universe, why do they need to stick to characters like Han? Shame.
This is probably bullshit, but I'll post it to toss around and/or tear apart. The Star Wars slate has allegedly leaked via this photo. In text form... “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” – December 18, 2015 “Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One” – December 16, 2016 “Star Wars Episode VIII” – May 26, 2017 “Star Wars Anthology: Fett/Solo” – May 25, 2018 “Star Wars Episode IX” – (2019) “Star Wars Anthology: Kenobi: The Balance of the Force” – (2020) The Han Solo film is supposed to be in 2018, and no mention was made of Boba-Fett. So, even if this were real info, it's outdated at best. Also, the Obi-Wan film subtitle bumps out the anthology bit. Would the real Lucasfilm be that sloppy? Well, I suppose a picture filmed in 2019 does put McGregor at around the right age to play and "in between" Obi-Wan. So there's that. Still not wanting to see the origins of Han or Fett though. For the former, I'm just not interested, and for the latter, I already think Lucas ruined him by having him in Episode II. Boba Fett's best feature was always his mystery.
Said it before, I'll say it again: a Boba Fett movie shouldn't be about Boba Fett; it should be about the guy Boba Fett is chasing. Don't want Solo Begins, Fett Rising, or Jedi Origins: Yoda.
Yeah the only thing that interests me is the Kenobi plans. Would be awesome to see Ewan reprise his role.
It's been confirmed that the second anthology film that Josh Trank dropped out of, and that got replaced with the Han Solo prequel was indeed going to be Boba Fett.
First pic of the cast of "Rogue One". From DH... "The already confirmed Felicity Jones is joined by Diego Luna , Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk as a performance-capture character".
"I want an official Red Ryder, diamond-action, two hundred millimeter lightsaber!" "No, you'll stab your eye out."
Rumor is they're digitally re-creating Peter Cushing as Tarkin for "Rogue One". http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/38530/moff-tarkin-returns-for-rogue-one
*imagines Tarkin re-created Max Headroom style* "We shall deal-deal-deal with your rebel friends with your rebel friends soon enough-nough-nough."
The young Han Solo search is down to three candidates. http://spinoff.comicbookresources.c...ows-young-han-solo-search-to-three-finalists/ Alden Ehrenreich (“Hail, Caesar!”), Jack Reynor (“Transformers: Age of Extinction”) and Taron Egerton (“Kingsman: The Secret Service”). I'm hoping it's the third one. Discuss.
