Shocking they would bother with actress continuity then.

I thought Kate Blanchet played Mon Mothma in Revenge of the Sith?

This one looks the most like the one that played her in Return of the Jedi, maybe?

Actually, I'd say most folks would be happy if the prequels never happened. Oh, and George claimed before he sold out to Disney that he had structured the rights so that no one could make anything related to Star Wars until the films were public domain.

Not to mention, the ST has an ensemble cast with both female and male heroes. It's times like this that I regret driving away that German MRA. He could provide some fun here.

Looks good, very bare on the plot content as Packard says which is fine by me, as we'll probably go see it anyway. That Mon Mothma progression Paladin posted looks pretty good too.

My money is on Palpatine. It's definitely his throne room and his guards. I doubt Vader would hang out there without his master.

I want to see Palpatine dissolve the senate.
It's that one little detail that it bugged me they did offscreen in ANH.
I could live without it, I'm just saying.

    @Packard:

I can't foretell the plot from what we've seen so far, but aside from knowing that the rebels steal the Death Star plans, do we really know much else about how we get to that moment? I would certainly enjoy learning more about how the 2nd galactic civil war gets started. I have a sense we'll see some of that. Everybody knows about the plans, I doubt that's the true story of Rogue One. It's only the hook.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck me that was pretty good.

Best thing Lucas ever did for Star Wars was to sell it.

I also like the fact that Disney is casting interesting and strong female lead characters. :techman:

Now if only Hasbro would get its shit together in the marketing and toy production department.

Neither. It moved wrong to be Vader, and if you notice, it knelt. Vader I could see kneeling in the throne room. Palpy? Not a chance. Here's a screen grab of him halfway to his knee.

    Two possibilities:

    1. This is Snoke, kneeling before Palpatine.
    2. This is Palpatine, kneeling before Snoke.

Somebody had the perfect explanation for the AT-ATs: They show just how unconcerned the Empire was about opposition forces. No one going up against an enemy they considered a credible threat would design something like the AT-ATs. They're visible for miles and are easier to hit than the proverbial broadside of a barn, so why would you do something like that? Because you want to scare the shit out of your opponent. You've got something that isn't merely big, its so big that its daring you to hit it, because it knows that there's nothing you can possibly throw at it which will do it any harm.

    Two more possibilities:
    3. Its a completely new character kneeling before another completely new character
    4. Palpy's kneeling before a Force related object, like the crystal in Splinter of the Mind's Eye.

It should have a scene with Vader cradling a little Padme doll, dancing around with this playing the background.

Oooh, bringing Snoke in would be awesome, but I'm leaning towards Vader now. At the end of the trailer you get a hint of the Imperial March which is typically associated with Vader. Some Snoke background would be cool, but I'm still hoping Snoke is Plagueis.

That makes me wonder if we'll see the kyber crystal that the Death Star uses to generate the beam?

I don't think they'd spoil anything about Snoke outside of the main series.

Anyone else getting that this looks more "adult" than SW to date? Definitely looks good.
