I'm no military expert, but it doesn't look to me like the Russians put a lot of thought into storing their ammo. They definitely put the "dump" in "ammo dump."

What technological superiority? It turns out most of their fearsome next gen tech is only for show. The T-14 Armata for example was produced in so few numbers to be virtually meaningless, and on top of that one of the units that was to recieve them complained that they were falling apart. The Russian fighter jets don't even have military grade GPS, their communications aren't encrypted.

They do brute force, big explosions well. Everything past that is completely beyond them. Hell, when the Moskva went down it was largely because the flagship of their fleet was barely functional.
