    Meet Ukraine's newest martyr.

    martyr.jpeg

ID not yet public. Dude was standing there, having a smoke when he was surrounded by Russian soldiers, they say something to him, and he responds with, "Slava Ukraine." They immediately open fire, killing him.

This has his execution blurred out, but the moments leading up to it are unblurred.

The unedited video is out there on the web, I'm told, if someone wants to see it uncensored. I don't.

Remember that scene in TVH where Kirk looks at Uhura and the others standing at the bus stop and tells them, "Break up. You guys look like a cadet review."? Apparently, these Russian soldiers have never seen TVH.

It was pretty weak. The main Norwegian ship supposedly used in the operation has been laid up for years and his anonymous source used the exact same language to describe the operation (Goat Fuck IIRC) as his anonymous source that said the OBL raid was fake.

So reading some more the range of these isn’t much more than GMLRS (the only rockets used by HIMARS we’ve given them) but whereas GMLRS has a 200lb warhead the JDAM-ERs are 2,000lb which seems like a bit bigger.

Ran across this randomly just now. Comparison of 500lb and 2000lb JDAMs from the Danish military. :corn:

    Nice.

I love how other Germanic languages* can be so close to us, especially in… ‘low’ and war fighting uses***. Like I know what what 500 ‘pund’ v 2000 ‘pund’ bomb means. And what a 20 mike-mike ‘kanon’ is…

*I forget the exact numbers but something like while only 40% of the words in M-W or Oxford are Germanic over 90% of the words the average American** uses on the average day are all Germanic.

**Those employed in culinary, law, academia, medicine, STEM and certain other fields have higher usage of non-Germanic words.

***An actual PS. Adding 15 minutes later. Dutch IS THE FUCKING WORST. Even when I was living/ studying/speaking German 24/7 whenever I was on a train in the fucking Nederlands I could never relax because every thirty seconds someone would say something that COULD have been English so like every foreigner in a strange land my ears would prick up and my mind start trying to listen in on my ‘compatriots’ which would distract me from the German convo I was already semi struggling to stay a part of…

When was that tweet? I was in Delhi while the G20 Summit was happening on the 1st and 2nd. Wasn't able to do the tour I wanted because traffic was going to be a bigger shitstorm than normal.

Edit: When I was in Kolkata, my phone showed articles of Sec. Blinkin and Bill Gates driving the three-wheeled Mahindra mini-buses. Cool little things, but damn do they look dated and need new models.

The summit was running longer than I expected, and also through Holi. That must have fucked up celebrations in Delhi to some degree.
Fuck, Holi completely shut Kolkata down, including the friggin' metro, which was surprising. Screwed over my exploration plans a little

Wife and I were in Singapore when Trump was meeting with Kim Jong-Un. Didn't disrupt any of our plans too much, but was mighty odd walking around and seeing American and NK flags flying everywhere.
