Reading elsewhere apparently it was a collision between two tanks and one ran up on the other, dislocating the turret.

Must've been going pretty fast to do that to the turret. If Leopard 2 is anything like an Abrams, the turret weighs 20 tons or more.

If Ukraine thinks it can kick Russia out of Crimea there's no chance this happens. Nor should it. And they've been down this road before. Why would Ukraine ever trust Russia to keep a peace deal?

Well, if one considers that perhaps the Ukranians are not about to roll back the Russian advances any time soon, and that the Chinese have a clear geopolitical interest in being the peacemaker here, having already used to war to turn Russia into a vassal...

Sure the Ukrainian Spring Offensive(s) might be as big a nothing burger as the Russian Winter Offensive but why should Ukraine negotiate as if that is a given?

They have nine new Western trained and armed brigades and three new Ukrainian trained and armed ones they have been holding in reserves for this.

They should get the chance to punch back before we try and force them into conceding defeat and their territory (and people! Remember Bucha and all the torture chambers and mass graves uncovered in Kharkov and Kherson?) to the mercy of Putin?

And why should they trust any peace deal China makes for Putin? There are good reasons to believe it would just Munich all over again.

Who said anything about forcing them to do anything? Obviously if they don't like Chinese proposals then they won't go anywhere.

Putin just signed a law that allows them to forcibly remove any Ukrainian that doesn't hold a Russian passport from any territory in the former Ukraine. This has always been about the destruction of the Ukrainian people.

In other news, Ukraine's psyops are on point. Evidently they've targeted confused pensioners to attack military recruitment offices as 'secret missions to weed out terrorists.' There's been at least 16 of these attacks! All of them by the elderly, many of them done in full sight of the authorities as gams throws a molotov cocktail at the recruiters to help mother russia.

Weaponizing old people's cognitive decline seems to be the new trend. Hell, it worked on Fox News viewers, it worked on Brexiteers, why not keep the confusion help the good guys for a change.
