If memory serves, we've been doing these threads since about 2004, which means that our streak of awesome is better than that of the SEC in national title games. And all without paying cash for a junior college quarterback. Although I hear the SEC is making junior colleges members now, so at least they're consistent. This thread's so big we've penned a deal to carry Texas high school football games. So without further ado, the thread that's more fun than a Hurricane booze cruise, more permanent than a Buckeye tattoo, from a no tan line Italian FOB in Afghanistan, to where ever the hell Jim Tressel is, no, it's not the greatest game ever sold, it's the... The 2011 College Football Thread *As always a tip o the cap to the Fallen Husker, (and what about the Fallen Raider, Free Stiffler!) may he get the Big Ten network in the afterlife. And Red Room rules apply, and no stickies.
I'm gonna go bold and say 8-4 during the regular season and then we clobber whoever we get in a bowl.
SC VS Minnesota this weekend. I'll be watching the BSU game at a party at a bud's house though, complete with scantily clad chicks by the pool to occupy us during the commercial breaks...
What, no OU bashing yet? Nobody predicting the Golden Hurricane will shock the world Saturday in Norman? Rumors already flying that the Sooners will be a part of a new Pac-14 or Pac-16 by the end of October. By the way, what's the deal with all this pansy stuff that passes for outlaw behavior these days? Getting your girlfriend to ring up $2500 in clothes from Macy's for about $10? Free tattoos, booze cruises, strippers, cars, selling souvenirs? Pshaw. The Sooners were shooting Uzis out of dorm windows and selling blow to undercover agents back in the good old days. Amateurs.
Why bash, OU has it's hands full with Florida State in a couple weeks. The Cowboys aren't sneaking up on anyone this year, I predict 10-2, and the offense will have some issues with the loss of Holgerson. He knew when to hold 'em and fold 'em.
Awesome. So not only can I not get the game to stream, but now ESPN won't even load. DAMN YOUS ALL TO HELL!!!!!
So, I didn't get to see any the games, but just from what I've been able to read, some thoughts. 1. If this is Notre Dame's comeback year, they got off to a hell of a start. Seriously, when is ND and everyone else just going to admit that while they used to be a powerhouse team they aren't now and aren't likely to ever be again. Their continued arrogance in the face of reality is mind blowing (it's almost like they are religious! ) 2. I wish I could have watched LSU-Oregon. Before all the suspensions I thought LSU would take it pretty easily, but after everything went down I was really worried. SEC BABY! 3. Georgia Boise wasn't really surprising, but even if I wasn't going to pull for them for conference/rival reasons, I still wanted Boise to lose. Now potentially we have another season where they're gonna bitch and moan b/c since they won the one or two games they played against real teams they now think they deserve a seat at the table. Fuck 'em. If you want to play in the big leagues, grab your balls and join a real conference like Utah and TCU did. 4. Speaking of which, Baylor TCU looks like it would have been a good game. And that's about all the games I paid any attention to.
It was. I was at a bar all Friday evening with some friends and we watched just about all of it. Shocker for TCU.
Florida State off to a good start against a not too bad Louisiana Monroe team. The Oklahoma game is gonna have Tallahassee rockin!
Okay, the new Maryland uniforms and helmet are officially full of FAIL. Are they designed to give the other team eyestrain? No one will Fear the Turtle now.
Somehow, at the last minute, Oklahoma State has been saved from winning the "Worst Uniforms of the Weekend" award. Wow.
I predict that Arizona will bring some shit tonight. It will be a closer game than expected, with Cowboys eeking out a victory. Tradition says we wear black for Thursday night games, hopefully it's something special.
And after half an hour of searching, I've finally got the Auburn Network to stream. Hopefully it keeps up once the game starts.
Gonna go watch the Michigan/Notre Dame game. Michigan football is the only football I give a damn about.
