It's unfortunate that Trump is being hit with the politically easiest charge. He deserves to go down for his role in the attempted coup instead. And I can't believe that he'll be allowed to serve a minute of jail time. Still, fucking LOL.

Who says he won't be indicted for January 6? There's multiple investigations still ongoing.

    really.

I'll be much more happy when he's indicted for conspiricy to fix the election or incite insurrection. More importantly convicted by a jury of his peers.

taking him down with whatever works is political posturing. He's not al capone.

The situation is not analogous to Al Capone and it is much more important that he is brought down for his acts of insurrection than for petty corruption or sex scandals.

While he is merely a symptom of the political and societal dysfunction in the United States, he has personally done enormous damage to the integrity of the democratic system. Getting him for something else avoids confronting that, allows the problems to fester, withholds political and legal accountability from others and makes it more likely that similar attempts will be made to overthrow the government.

And yes, I know that investigations are still open. But more severe consequences really should have applied before now. It's utterly ridiculous that he's still able to run for POTUS at this stage.

I could not agree more. My statement was just to say that sometimes, that's all we get. and if that's all we get, despite knowing everything is way worse than the charges, it's still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Don't be fucking obtuse. My well-known opinion of Trump is not politicizing your justice system.

The question at hand is whether Donald J. Trump participated in a fraud scheme, which is an indictable offence. The grand jury certainly felt there was enough evidence to indict him. There's nothing political about the process, other than the fact that Trump happens to be the former President of the United States of America. In fact, it seems the Republicans are the ones politicizing everything.

Or are you saying that sitting and former presidents are above the law?

Not literally. But your opinion shared by millions of liberals in the states is.

Going after him for petty cash, $130K in blackmail money that wasn't accounted for properly, is horseshit. All it does is make conservatives laugh and point fingers at us.

Call me when GA or the Feds indict him for conspiracy and insurrection.

We actually don't know the details of the indictment so it could be a lot more than $130k.

But hey, apparently we shouldn't prosecute financial crimes because reasons. And conservatives laughing at liberals.

OK...he committed a crime (or apparently 34 of them) but he's popular so he shouldn't be indicted? I mean, yes a large part of his base will support him...more? But will all of his base stick with him? If even some don't then how does this make him more powerful? If getting indicted is good for the Republicans why aren't they all trying to get indicted?

Maybe. But even if they do, it won't change anything. They aren't powerful enough in NY to stop it. Next man up.

You go after him for every fucking single thing he did that broke the law, and make each case hurt as much as possible.

He's going to get perp walked on Tuesday. And 34 counts of a Class E felony is a minimum of 34 years - a maximum of 170. This alone could put him away for the rest of his life.

Then while he's fighting this let Atlanta drop. Then the top secret documents. Then the tax fraud. Then the insurrection itself.

Yea, yea. We know. you are not a trump supporter.

and don't give us your typical bullshit about innocent until proven guilty. If it were one incident, sure. But, everything all together ...? not so innocent.

Also, if you're so "balanced" why don't you defend Hillary with the same intensity?
