Hurr will not recommend arresting Biden, for the same reason Mueller didn’t: the OLC memo saying sitting presidents can’t be indicted. What he says about Biden’s innocence may differ.

Unlike Bragg and Willis, Smith probably is working to finish both NARA-lago and the 1/6 cases for Trump (unlike everyone else he’s indicted, who aren’t involved in both cases) before he prosecutes either (to ensure they don’t interfere with each other in any way). He still has grand juries empaneled for both and sending witnesses to them, so it’s not like he’s not working on it. And we’ll know when he’s done because because declination decisions of a special counsel (unlike an AG) have to be made public (Durham’s hopes that everyone forgets about his missing report notwithstanding).

The wheels of Justice turn slowly. Insurrectionists are still being arrested and convicted, 2 1/4 years later. Do I think Trump should have bee arrested already? Yes. Would I rather prosecutors make sure they have an airtight case with more than one line of evidence for his intent before doing so if that improves the chances of conviction? Also yes.

Nope. The guy has even said that they’re not left leaning and that the “problem” with America is that we have too many left leaning publications.

Who’s all sides? And I don’t need a chart to tell me a site that ran a series of breathless articles about Kamala Harris’ staff having changes and that this might mean she won’t make a good VP, without comparing it to the turnover rates of other VPs, leans in a particular direction. The fact that a drooling idiot such as yourself likes the article is enough.

You're right, Politico is left leaning.

I agree with this opinion piece. The DA is acting on partisan interests.

No, but it would be nice if they prosecuted all corrupt politicians. I would certainly bet that most politicians have misused contributions to their campaign for personal issues. Why is Trump the only ex president to be considered for prosecution? I actually think Trump was under the impression they never prosecute ex-presidents. Where would he get such an idea if not from the government who tried everything it could for 6 years to not prosecute him right up until he decided to anger the powers that be by running for a second term.

Why does it seem that the go ahead to prosecute came from Rupert when he declared Trump an enemy of the right wing propaganda station he owns?

They are flat out saying Trump is the only ex-president that will ever be indicted. I am all for throwing him under the jail, but it is clearly obvious winning the presidency means you are above the law. That is bias.

Further than this McCarthy wasn't even going to do a thing until they indicted Trump. Then he said he would go after the Dems implying there are things to go after them about.

Silly Tuckerfan. People accidentally holding onto documents and alerting the relevant authorities once they realised is entirely the same as conspiring to steal things your lawyers are explicitly telling you don't belong to you.

Tuesday is expected to be the day. It looks like at this point there won't be much in the way of home grown protest in NY itself, perhaps moreso in red states and of course in Florida near Mar-a-Largo.

However, as it turned out that a tranche of the death threats that went after Alvin Bragg came from Russia, and considering Russia's current political climate, I wonder if they will go even farther as a state actor to increase the heat level. The Kremlin already feels like it is in a de facto war with the west. Their plans for expansion largely depends on the Republicans regaining power, and if that fails then they definitely want the US to descend into civil war.

I don't know what capability they have left at this stage, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them trying to interfere. And that interference might go beyond inciting violence into actively partaking in it.

I suspect that the NYPD and the SS have it planned to quickly bring Trump in, get him processed, and get him out as quietly as possible. In this instance, I'd say that they have less to worry about protecting the ex-President and more about protecting the people around him. They're not going to want to risk having their ass picked off by a sniper, forget whatever they might think of Trump.

I wonder why they are bothering to bring him in at all? Since he is not going to be actually taken into custody they could do the processing at an untold location and time, and do the arraignment over zoom keeping Trump in a secure location. Security wise it seems a huge expense to even bring him in since there is no possibility he is not going to make bail. The fingerprinting and mugshot could be done anywhere.

All in all the entire day at the courthouse could be a complete ruse if they really felt it was not secure.

In the end the only real reason I can see them doing this at the courthouse is they all want the news to have the pictures.

Mods, can we please change @Bill Carson 's name to little dayton? He just totally wants the title so I think he should get what he wants. We can't rot his foot off, but

    Of course not.

But how is anyone going to take liberal DAs seriously if we think prosecuting a minor accounting issue is serious justice. Trump was being blackmailed by a porn star. We should celebrate his ineptitude and prosecute him for trying to overthrow the election.
