Ben Carson and Matt Taibbi, Two men from different worlds, Met over a glass of Chardonnay And fell in love over the Twitter Files. They talked about the power of social media, And how it was being used to spread misinformation. They talked about the dangers of echo chambers, And how they were dividing our country. But most of all, they talked about each other. They talked about their hopes and dreams, And their fears and insecurities. And as the night went on, They realized that they had more in common than they thought. They were both passionate about politics, And they both wanted to make a difference in the world. And so, they began to fall in love. They fell in love with each other's minds, And they fell in love with each other's hearts. And they knew that their love would last, Even after the Twitter Files were forgotten.
To be clear just under 3k posts were flagged as possibly fraudulent or illegal. Less than 1k were removed.
Thank you for the correction. This makes Taibbi's reporting seem even worse. How can you suggest there was censorship at a platform as big as Twitter, when a mere 1k of 22 million tweets searched were removed?
Faulty premise. It wasn't being ignored, it was looked at (heck, even at WF many of us read a bunch of the things you reposted) and dismissed because it was clearly super biased and created to push a pre-determined conclusion despite the evidence.
It is so easy to get the points over on the boy and people like him, isn't it? I can see why you thought you were hot shit.
Sorry to keep being pedantic but I would suggest tracked or monitored over search. See contrary to what Matt Taibbi and the Twitter Files people would have you believe the EIP wasn’t just not a government project but they weren’t out there trying to find election misinformation. They were trying to study election mis and dis information flows through social media. From the longer form takedown I posted earlier: And they were quite clear in their report on how all this worked. EIP was an academic project to track election interference information and how it flowed across social media. The 22 million figure shows up in the report, but it was just a count of how many tweets they tracked in trying to follow how this information spread, not seeking to remove it. And the vast majority of those tweets weren’t even related to the ones they did explicitly create tickets on. In total, our incident-related tweet data included 5,888,771 tweets and retweets from ticket status IDs directly, 1,094,115 tweets and retweets collected first from ticket URLs, and 14,914,478 from keyword searches, for a total of 21,897,364 tweets. Tracking how information spreads is… um… not a problem now is it? Is Taibbi really claiming that academics shouldn’t track the flow of information? https://www.techdirt.com/2023/04/07...r-files-as-matt-taibbi-stumbles-to-defend-it/ This also goes to another thing Matty gets wrong, the date the report was published. He claimed it was before the election and used to influence the election. This was a lie. It was released March 2, 2021. https://fsi.stanford.edu/news/elect...eport-mis-and-disinformation-2020-us-election So yeah. Matty has admitted he was wrong about who wrote the report, why they wrote it, what was in it and when it was published. But aside from those minor little details everything else he stands by in his reporting.
Since we're allowed to post videos again, here's one from a real journalist that sums up why people don't trust the MSM. In short, they shut down debate because they think they are the gatekeepers of truth. Then when the truth comes out they don't apologize for their behavior.
In his most "respected" days, Stossel was ABC's Andy Rooney. A malcontent doing his standup routine. David Schultz didn't slap him hard enough.
If a Stossel rant is your "gotcha" from "a respected intellectual" I'm not quaking in my boots over the future cockroach people finding this thread, and judging me harshly. I feel nice and safe and cozy.
Of course you do because you never think you're wrong about anything and your smugness allows you to believe you're always on the right side of history.
Stossel could accidentally right about something someday, and I could make an ass out myself and miss it. And lightning could strike a shark, blow it out of the water, kill a bear with its carcass, and I could see it, and not have a camera on me. Both of those are risks I'm willing to take.
You were never not allowed to post videos. Most people expected you to do the courtesy of summarizing why they should spend their time watching the video in question. And/or when the flaws in the video are pointed out, not taking the cowardly approach of "Well I am not saying these are MY views...I'm just putting it out there for discussion." As to your description of this video -- the subject of why people don't trust the MSM isn't at all relevant to such topics as "Did Twitter collude with the government to censor views on any given topic?" including (but not limited to vaccines, Hunter Biden's penis, Hunter Biden's laptop, Hunter Biden's corruption, etc.), "Did Twitter actively show bias for/against any given political position?" "Did Twitter break its own rules" or "How fair/accurate/well done were The Twitter Files by Matt Taibbi, and how well do they show the aforementioned sort of bias/collusion exists?" So as fun as it might be to watch the video and address what I'm sure are the many flaws in its logic, I'll take a hard pass.
*Gives in, and watches the Stossel video* And, that was dogshit. An FF post in audio. Complete with quotes with no source, and clips taken out of context. Stossel is Prager with "did you ever notice?" hack comedian voice. I repeat, David Schultz didn't slap him hard enough.
Okay, this is how Stossell and his fanboys think the media should handle every-fucking-thing. Nazi- The holocaust is fake. Press- Wow, I'll treat that with respect and balance! Let's investigate this! For years! (10 years later) Press- We looked into it, holocaust is real. Nazi- Nope, still fake, investigate again. Press- Okay!! (Repeat forever until the sun burns out)
I don't know if you have actually watched the video, but you know what we never get if you do break down and watch the video and point out it's flaws? We never get the boy actually trying to support them. That is why I stopped watching the videos. If I do watch the videos and give him a chance, then take the time to describe the point of abuse of truth, and correct it with citations and rational rebuttal then the whole thing either devolves into namecalling, or getsd ignored like this will. I am not monetizing the weirdo. I gave idiots like Jimmy Doorknob a fucking chance, and then they morphed into a CHUD. I am not giving them more clicks to get money. If FF wants to argue their point then he has to write it out. It is one thing to click on a tweet which has no monitization. I am not going to fund a man who is probably half naked in him mom's basement surrounded by nazi memorabilia with his cum stains all over it. I am getting tired of how the grifters have gotten their army of fuckwits to post a link to a youtube article and nothing else so I have to give them money just to argue the point. This is why I try to only watch troll media in someone else's monetized link. If they are saying something new then the person telling me about it had better tell me what it is because I am not giving them profit just to give them some benefit of the doubt. Part of the reason all these idiots make these videos with these FF points is because there is money in making new bullshit sources for FF to use. Now he is using this asshole and not Joe Rogan or Jimmy Dore. It is still the same shit, and no I am not goingh to give them a click worth of revenue to have an argument with federal fuckup when I can easily just insult him again. I am just saying do not fall for FF links to other people even if you are bored and having fun because if you did actually click on the link some Tramp Qtard 8chan fuckhead just got money from it. That is the whole useless point of federal fuckup's existence is to be an advertising bot for those chunderheads.
Normally I follow that rule, but I grew up with Stossell on TV, and the curiosity if he was still the same idiot, or worse, got the better of me. He's worse.
Oh, look. Now he wants to prove me wrong so the next time he can point to the ONE FUCKING TIME he actually responded.
Boy, you sure did take away the wrong message from that video. What I took away was entirely different. Me and others like me- Hey, don’t you find it kind of suspicious that a new virus just happened to come out near a lab where the do virology and China is notoriously sketchy with stuff like that. Leftists- you’re racist and a Nazi! You’re also a Trump supporter because you believe things that Trump said. You’re guilty by association! Me- but I didn’t even vote for T… Leftists Nazi! Racist! Social media exces- Ban Biden administration to social media execs- You should ban these people *presses proverbial thumb on proverbial scales and punches fist into hand mobster style* Real journalists- hey, maybe we should keep an open mind to all.. leftists- Shuuuuuuuuuut uuuuuuuuup! After some time passes the MSM starts to come around to the idea, but doesn't outright say it. Nobody issues an apology and round and round we go.
Nope, random quotes with no citation. Edited clips. I'm not going through the fucking thing with a comb.
