Here's a little incentive for you: show a link to a place in the Twitter Files where it said the FBI literally had office space within Twitter, and not only will I agree that you were right and Dicky was wrong on this, I'll also use that as proof against anyone who might call you a liar or otherwise criticize you as a poster.
My bad. See, that's what a normal person does when they make a mistake. They admit it and move on. BTW, I reserve the right for the reverse. If you don't point out something that you claim you've already linked to proof of up thread, it's fair game to point that out in future conversations when you're either accusing other posters of ducking, dodging and deflecting. "Hey remember that time when FF claimed he could easily show that the Twitter Files proved that the FBI literally had office space in Twitter, but he opted not to because he claimed Anc wasn't going to accept it? Pepperidge Farm remembers."
You. Literally. Said. This. One. Specific. Example. YOU PICKED THIS! YOU MADE IT THE CRUX OF YOUR CASE! You can’t be mad when folks ask if it’s actually factual.
This 1000x. ~15 years ago I was drunk and made a joke that was *EXTREMELY* inappropriate about @shootER’s daughters. I can’t find it but it happened. I’m sorry it happened but it happened. Next day I saw it and I immediately apologized and at this point in time feel that it has been forgiven. It is okay to ACT like an asshole occasionally. Just don’t BE an asshole.
I'd be happy to revisit the alleged jawboning too if you prefer. IIRC, the last time we discussed it, the only example you could provide of any alleged jawboning as to Twitter on any subject was that an administration official went on a news show and said re: misinformation about Covid and tech companies not doing enough to stop it that if they don't step up that maybe there will be an effort to look at regulations to make them more responsible. I invite you to show evidence of any of the following: 1. Any other supposed examples of jawboning besides that one, preferably directed at Twitter from an actual government employee. 2. Any evidence that any Twitter exec took that example (or any others you might mention) as a serious source of concern. 3. Any evidence that Twitter execs were fearful in general about a change in regulations that would cause them to be policed by the government more closely 4. Any evidence that Twitter execs were not just self-policing as to any of the usual topics (Covid, conservative politics, Hunter Biden, etc.). Again, if there was any evidence of that, it should be fairly simple to find given that the journalists affiliated with the Twitter Files had access to Twitter execs' internal e-mails and with Musk had someone extremely incentivized to demonstrate that old Twitter was bullied into being anti-conservative. Of course, that can all wait until you provide the link to where someone with knowledge of the situation stated in seriousness that the FBI actually had office space in Twitter at any point.
I should also point out that the administration official was a flak. Not someone who actively does policy. Not if I remember correctly like the main press secretary at the time but some underling. And the statement she made was in response to a question along the lines of "What might the administration do if tech companies don't step up?" This is not exactly the height of bullying. Mods, I once again lobby for you to change the stupid FF rule that prevents people from editing their posts more than 30 minutes after they originate.
Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it's been a month and FF has not responded at all, much less with substance, to all the supposed bullying that the government did. Meanwhile, it looks like SCOTUS is about to drop the hammer on those conservative AGs who made allegations that the Biden administration suppressed free speech re: Covid by supposedly jawboning Big Tech. https://nypost.com/2024/03/18/us-ne...f-censorship-claim-against-biden-white-house/
