so, walking, walking, zombies *splat*, walking, dogs, *splat*, walking, rain, zombies and then lucifer appears? because, like, it's not god in this series
so the "3 weks since Atlanta" line is helpful but there was no sign of all this distress last week, and that last 80 miles or whatever isn't enough to get in this state so....previous ep shot out of order or something?
I keep wondering why they are still running around. I mean, in real life people would make Woodbury. They'd find some empty town somewhere easily defendable. Clean it, build a fence and be done with it. But not our heroes. Nah. Or what about a zombie free route on the water. Savannah, Brunswick, plenty of boats to go up or down the coast. I'm sure there is a Jimmy Buffet song somewhere that can serve as a soundtrack. But yea, yea. I know. They have to keep running in circles.
Maybe I missed something, but why do they keep the doctor (who isn't a doctor) around again? Didn't he lead them astray?
Pretty much anyone who owned a boat would have hightailed it out to sea once they figured out it was the zombie apocalypse. The ones that didn't make it would have had their boats taken by other survivors. Not a lot of boats compared to the sheer number of cars on the road.
1) The Group™ is good, they are generally pretty forgiving as long as you don't outright kill someone. 2) Eugene is actually very intelligent, he just doesn't have a cure. Someone smart is good to have around, though it would be nice if they would showcase that a bit.
Damn, good old Rick is losing it. His paranoia is understandable, of course, but he is about to turn into a complete maniac. Give this guy some Xanax! I hope Alexandria is not a trap again and Rick can find finally enough time to recover. Two or three episodes should be enough. The poor guy is about to implode and will get everybody killed. The hippie beard must go, too! Crazy Rick Grimes, a ticking time bomb... I hope Alexandria is the long awaited plot turn and doesn't devolve into Terminus 2.0 or even another Woodbury... (Obviously, I don't know the comics, so please no spoilers from the comic buffs! ) The gang deserves some rest, and I'm looking forward to some quiet episodes. I for one could use it, too.
They overdid Ricks distrust this week IMHO. Yes, I know they tried to use Woodbury and Terminus as excuses for it, but it still seemed excessive and out of character.
They seemed to have fast-forwarded considerably from the comic books, if that settlement is what I think it is.
In the comics, do they ever find out anything more about what the zombie disease is or how it works or what they can do about it? Or is it all just survival and death and survival and death and survival and death?
I believe the comics started about 10 to 12 years ago. For many years, they were engaging, original and shocking. I'd say for the past 3 or 4 years they've been nothing but repetitive and predictable. I'm glad the television series has strayed somewhat from the comics, but ultimately the show will fall into the same trap if they're not careful.
According to the comic fanboys the cause or cure doesn't matter... "IT'S ABOUT THE CHARACTERS!!!!" And if you disagree and say it needs something more you apparently want nothing but non-stop zombie killing and Michael Bay explosions. I do think people are going to eventually get bored, especially if the current settlement is just another hidden nightmare. I haven't read the comic, but they seem to have a quandary at this point. If it's another Woodbury....deja vu. If it's actually a good place, why would you ever leave it? Of course I can answer that, for some contrived reason a bad person or persons will cause it to be destroyed conveniently during sweeps.
That HUGE zombie herd from the first episode of season 5 is still AWOL. I wonder if their steel walls can withstand that Of course those new boys are too nice and clean. They look totally fishy to me. Cult? As for the course of the TV show vs. the comics: the show will have to divert at some point because it's going to end. They can't churn out 20 seasons on TV whereas comics can go on indefinitely. I'll say the 7th will be the last one. They'll have to conclude it somehow at some point and just killing off everybody won't fly.
Good ep. Can we just kill Aiden and "MY wife cut your hair" now? I mean before they have time the start the inevitable trouble that they foreshadowed? It was as subtle as a nuclear weapon. I can easily see the MY wife guy being an abusing husband and Carol figuring into the story pretty big. Also, just a guess, but I'm leaning towards Carl's new girlfriend being the one who took Ricks gun.
Last scene of the last show of the series - Rick wakes up in bed with Suzanne Pleschette! It's all been a dream.
They make it to The White House, and there's a giant one of those wasps that can turn ants into zombies. Daryl shoots it, zombies all die, the end.
Yea, the my wife guy was unsubtle. Also how his wife looked at Rick. Still not figuring out what's wrong with Alexandria. Other than the abyss finally staring back at Rick, a development that came too fast for my liking. Yes he doesn't trust them, as he should. But three episodes ago he wasn't completely broken.
Well, like I said before, the writers are in a really tough spot now. If Alexandria goes south in any way short of a natural disaster (which would seem contrived) people will just see it as another Woodbury or Terminus. Even if it doesn't go south collectively and is brought down by one or more people it's still going to feel like "been there, don't that, got the gore stained T-shirt" to a lot of viewers. I personally think the show needs a change, and I don't mean just scarier villains *cough*Nagan*cough*. But if you suggest something not in their precious comics the comic readers will collectively flip their shit.
Why are the Alexandria people filming them? Maybe to send the footage back to their bosses because the official gub'mint is still around to keep control over the survivors. Just sayin'
