The point isn't that you did it. That's fine, you've done it before and I haven't had a problem with it. It's the fact that here we have someone who could very well be a new member, and when they were offended by what you did, you laughed at them.

1. I'm pretty sure TK profiles are only visible to members. Not really "public."
2. Kirk once served a ban for revealing a new members employer when they hadn't revealed it themselves on WF, despite that information being common knowledge over at TrekBBS.

Yes. However, the IP address is only a partial match for another member, which could mean everything from two different people using the same ISP, or one person using utilizing a connection that offers a dynamic IP address (like DSL). In other words, it's not conclusive.

maybe she has a friend here but doesn't want the connection to be public. Like roommates or living in the same building.

it doesn't really matter to me till they actually do something dual-ish.
