What kind of fucked up parents would let their little 2nd grader turn himself into a transsexual?

This one family is causing a major problem for the whole school district and many students and families.

    Spoken like a true conservative.

We must make any necessary accomodations for our trans-gendered broth--, uh, sis--, uh, siblings. After all, it's not a lifestyle choice. It's who they are!

Personally, since I view transgendered people as a failure of enculturation, this kid shouldn't be allowed to have his way until he's out of high school.

Then he can call himself whatever he wants.

When I was in second grade, I wanted to be a bat. Should the school have let me study in the dark, hang upside down, and eat insects?

Honestly, I consider myself tolerant, but I don't think I could encourage my kid on that account. Being gay is one thing, but changing from a boy to a girl when I've seen them as one thing...? Call me selfish, but that's where I'd have to draw the line.

As a parent, I wouldn't want my kid in a class with this 'person'. I wouldn't want that mug anywhere near my kid.

    What can I say?!

You're entitled to your view, wrong as it may be.

I have known transgendered people and believe me, it's something they were born with. It was never a choice for them, it's who they are. So I'm not surprised that this second grader is adamant that he wants to transition at such an early age. It's her identity, and to force her to go through her entire childhood as the opposite gender of what her soul is telling her she should be will cause more psychological damage than you can imagine. That's why so many young transgendered people commit suicide.

    Agreed.

I wonder if this kid even properly understands the difference between a boy and girl.

This is a typical :lookatme:news report.

I wonder if his parents are pushing it.

So they must have some kinda mental problem. And did the transgenders you know start out with this stuff at 2nd grade?

Cuz to me, how does this kid even know this stuff. An 8 yrs old that comes to his parents and says..."Hold on, I think you're raising me the wrong gender." :wtf:

well I'm being honest. I think that kid is mental. My kid would not be going near it. Not at such a young age.

If she has any gay friends in HS, I wouldn't have a problem. Grade school, you bet!

Did you understand what transgendered meant in Grade 2?

    I doubt it.

Well the clothes issue is easily solved by allowing girls to wear pants if they wish.
As for what this kid thinks of gender at that age, most people who go on to get sex changes feel pretty much from the start that they were born as the wrong gender

Considering I'm not transgendered, that doesn't mean much. But I know people who knew and understood their identity as long as they could remember, some as early as kindergarten.

Not a damn thing, unless you have the money for private school or the time and resources to homeschool.

Oh yes, that kid would do such psychological damage to your child. Oh the horror.

    :jayzus:

Just admit it, you're homophobic and you fear what you don't understand. But just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's not a real issue for thousands of people in this country.

I think th ekid has a mental problem. That's reason enough to keep my kid away from it.

The truth of the matter is that as a parent you should be aware of what kind of kids your kid is around. Its a tricky thing. My daughter thinks she can just go freely over to bad neighborhoods to visit friends. I have to find the words and the way to tell her that its not a place I feel is safe for her. Or to be careful that she doesn't bring so-called friends over that might steal.

Kids are often oblivious to these things. And the oddball kids is always looking for a sympathetic friend. I have seen too many young gay girls work their charm on young straight girls. Parents often lose their kids to various friends of thier children cuz that kid was able steer them in other directions.

I know most of my kids friends and thier parents. I volunteer at her school. I know her teachers anfd some of the school administrators.

    You didn't answer the question.

Did you understand what being transgendered meant in Grade 2? Did you even understand the fundamental difference between a boy and girl at age 7?

    I sincerely doubt it.

This is what I am thinking as well.

I suspect the parents will sit back and wait for the first opportunity to sue the school, some hapless confused kid who picked on mini-Rosencrantz and their family.

Even if a second grader feels different or "wrong", it would be most unusual for them to be ready to put themselves out there with it and make themselves a social outcast. Most kids would be too scared to do that.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a spy like James Bond. I asked my parents if I could come to school in a tux with a Walther PPK in a concealed holster, and they laughed at me and my desire to be what I felt I was born to be: an agent of MI6.

I have secret agent identity issues to this day. :weep:

Well I'm past that stuff since my kid is in HS. But I was watching a show with once when she was in like 1st grade. In the show, someone mentioned the word ORGY. So she asked we what was that.

I changed the channel real quick. I don't need that shit. Not when she was just 7 yrs old.

I'd rather my kid be around other kids like her. Just normal kids without any major baggage. She had a friend that had a habit of running away from home. My daughter thought she could help. I worried that we would get caught up in that families problems. My wife had to be very careful about this kid coming to the house. I even talked to the father a few times.

The guy was a total asshole. Not much I could do to change him. I have my family to deal with. I can't take on extra problems.

    .........

Are you SHITTING ME?! Those 'young straight girls' at the very least had curiosity about batting for the other side. I've been around my gay friend's Lambda group a few times, and none of the lesbians would have been able to get me to "try out" anything. I know what I am.
