Well, after hundreds of hours and numerous runthroughs, I finally decided to get the evil/neutral achivements out of the way.

With the addition of each of the DLCs I've found myself going back and switching things up each run what with the introduction of new armaments and armor in each DLC. They're harder in some respects to do at the lower levels but for the plan I lay out I need to get into them and get the goods asap to make the rest run smoother.

The bad guy side of it is different, since things and places I would have access to are a different ball game on this side of the fence. Interesting and thought provoking. I'm used to being the Messiah, not a douchbag.

    Poor Deputy Weld. :(

Tomorrow, Mothership Zeta is due to be released so I figured I should let my inner animal off the leash a few days ago when I started it. I've just found it hard to be a bad guy but if I intend to complete the game then I must.
Feels weird shooting Regulators instead of Talon Mercs since that is always what I become. :calli:
    Oddly similar dialouge though.

I'll probably put the bad guy on hold for the new DLC though. As usual I make it a point to avoid anything to spoil things and the anticipation is high. It helps that I have 10s across the board at the save I intend to in with too, heh. :techman:

I managed to make the runthrough today on MZ, interesting addition. Had a couple of glitches, (one in the final battle! ), but a good addition overall.

Starting another pass at it to pick up on some stuff I missed.

At the moment it would do me no good Baba, I'm running the 360 version, but you can bet the next computer setup I get will be picking up the earlier versions. I also look forward to having a console to work with for a little creation of my own. :techman:

You know PC version you can make mods with GECK? There's a romance mod.
Here you go, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/. Obsidian will be making Fallout: Vegas. Original two fallout games you can kill children.

Yea, especially with the Outcast attitude is along the same lines I suspect, but in that case it'd be his superiors instead of subordinates.

This run the Outcasts are enemies. Not sure how I managed that but instead of backing up I just ran with it. I love it, a regulator with them as enemies. I was surprised I could have them as enemies and be a Steel Knight at the same time.

There's a lot of things left open ended in there, ideal premise for others to add to it since Beth is out of it. I haven't looked into Vegas too deep yet, bucks are tight and I have a self imposed rule of no looking for any information at all to keep it fresh when I do finally pick up the controller.

I will likely get it for a PC, (1&2 as well), at some point in the not too distant future so I can get my hands on the console, there's a shitload of ideas jumbled up in my cranium.

That and I can fix their screwup spots too.

I decided to complete the "Not of this Earth" mission and now I'm stuck on some alien ship! I'm killing aliens like there's no tommorrow, but I can't seem to find my way to the engine room and my science level is too low to activate the teleporters. The wayfinder is pretty much useless because the ship is a maze. I guess I'm stuck here killing aliens until I level up and can finally up my science score. :(

It's a relatively long one in explore mode, but if you go through leveled up it's a little quicker.

There's a lot of stuff to do and find there so don't be too impatient and look in every nook and cranny.

I will say this, there's a portal in the core to the maintenence room that I highly recommend going through for some goods that will be unavailable later if overlooked.
One more thing, once you do the spacewalk a good portion of access points in the core will not be available afterwards. ;)

Now go, enjoy, and try not to put a timeframe on it. I have hundreds of hours invested.

Just went back and played the entire game again along with DLC modes the Pitt and Point Lookout. And there's still half the map that I haven't gotten to! What a game world. The original ending was completely stupid, but with the new ending in the DLCs this is one of the best games I've ever played.

OK... I've destroyed the generators in the Cryo-Lab and the Robot Assembly area and I've identified the generator in the Hangar... however, it's behind a door protected by a force field and everytime I try to disable it, I trip an alarm and I get subsequently fried by an army of aliens and robots. I tried going back to the Engineering core and recruiting some help, but all they do is give me biogel. I'll figure it out soon enough... I just miss the wasteland. :(

Before the DLCs it led you to the ending pretty quick if you chose a certain path of excecution missing a hell of a lot. The DLCs made all the difference in the world.

I did the same thing after getting all five, this time concentrating on getting the special items and weapons. So far so good.

There's a couple of code glitches in the game for items, one of which is on Zeta, but I grabbed it anyway.

Definately one of the, if not the, best games I've played bar none. I love it.

You'll get back soon enough. You'll likely do it all again once you figure out what's what.

Wiki has a Fallout page but be warned, it contains a lot of information that would be spoilers, but it's set up to where with caution you can avoid them.

The forums at Beth are another source of input. I highly recommend getting an account there.

When I went through the game the first time I did so blind as I always do but when the DLCs hit I did it over again each time in different combinations. I've been through it like seven times, eight counting the current run.

You'll find things that are benificial throughout the game if you play certain ones first but like any of them it'll be tough until you get leveled up. Stealth is important and a surprise hit can score you more points.

Operation Anchorage is one you want to hit asap, there's an... item.. of clothing that will help a lot.

Oh, and don't forget the bobbleheads, there's one in the wasteland that if that section is completed you will not have access to it again. :(

I found that out the hard way in my first run and had to go back to an earlier save to get it. Waaaaay back.

Aww man! I'm at level 12 now with no bobbleheads... Is that bad?

Ok... I've defeated the aliens and I'm back in the wasteland. After selling a shitload of those alien crystals and bringing back some serious weaponry, I feel like I'm prepared to take on some Super Mutants and resume the hunt for dear old Dad. I've encountered the Brotherhood of Steel for the second time and even though I pulled thier asses out of the fire, they remain a bunch of pretentious assholes. I will get training to get that armor.

Also, I've encountered the Talon Mercs for the fourth time. Even with the advanced weaponry, they travel in packs and thier aim is deadly. They remain formidable for me. At some point, I have to find the asshole that put this contract on me.

Yea, the mercs are hard to whack, they usually run in packs of three but I have encountered as many as seven, not to mention the bots that accompany some of them.

When you do the evil end of the spectrum, it will be Regulators gunning for you in the same fashion.

The most powerful weapon in the game was on the ship in the cargo hold locked away in a safe. You likely missed it this round but like I say, you'll go back and redo the game again and again as you decipher what's where.

There's a lot of special weapons throughout, and you have to be careful who you whack because reguardless of how you feel about some of them they will play an important role in your survival. Trial and error is a part of it and damn if it isn't fun trying different things and responses for differing outcomes.

The game is very addicting, Beth did an outstanding job with this work.

I don't want to spoil the game for you so if some of my comments are vague that is why.
If you need a hand let me know, I'll assist as I can. :D

You're gonna love Paradise Falls, as a good guy clearing that rats nest out will be very satisfying.

One more thing, though there are books throughout to up the skill levels there will likely be a time in the future where your levels will be maxed before you find all the books.

Science is important, meds, and one perk to consider is the one that doubles your knowlage from one to two when you read a book. Working that one in is beneficial.

Just do what comes natural and it'll all be good.

In Sheriff Simm's house in Megaton there is a bobblehead, in the science lab of Rivet City there is another, head due West from Smith Casey's garage, over the first hill, look at the wall of the other for a banner, that's rockopolis, there is a bobblehead there, those are some easy ones, and another tip, search around EVERY radio tower, each radio tower corresponds to a treasure room

    Alpha,
Bobbleheads have an importance in that first, collecting them gets you achivements at the ten and the twenty count, half and all of them, and there's a couple of things to consider.
Aside of the acheavements, or trophies on the ps3 iirc, they give you either one s.p.e.c.i.a.l. point or ten points dependent on the bobblehead. It is possable to get tens all the way down with a perk you get at the tail end, I think it's an option at 30, that gives you nines all the way down and if you leave the s.p.e.c.i.a.l. bobbleheads where they are and don't pick them up you can take that perk and then go get them. Some have argued that this takes away from it but they're not going anywhere so this last run that's exactly what I did and have tens all the way down.
The one that you can lose and not be able to get, (energy weapons), isn't a s.p.e.c.i.a.l. but it is critical for the second trophy in that field. I won't tell you where they all are becuase that's a spoiler as far as I am concerned, unless asked as a last resort, but that one is critical and to be found as I said, Raven Rock.

Also, make sure you don't have the lucky 8-ball at the time of picking up the Luck bobblehead, that is if you chose to do it this way, because done in a particular order it will count when you take the perk and pick up the bobblehead and you'll end up with a 9 luck. If you figure out where the L8B is and acquire it just leave it at the house when you set up to make the final run on all of the bobbleheads.

Now go kill ya some muties, and when you meet Brick she'll have a nice weapon well suited for the task. :techman:
