    :soma: Dude,you're spoilerin'!

    :gul:
...but while we're here, the Rockopols one if taken before talking to a certian adventurous gentleman in Tenpenny Tower you will lose the opportunity to get a key for your keyring.
The Simms one you can either follow him or his kid in or lockpick his door without fear of the town turning on you and if you go evil be sure to get it before "the event" or getting it will make it like the Raven Rock one, unobtainable and missed. :(

I have angelic karma right now... I attempted to save Red from Big Town, but I was attacked by 2 Super Mutants and she was killed on the way back. So I ended up killing everyone in the town and looting them. I thought that would give me sufficient enough bad karma, but no....

Early on, I met Burke in Moriarty's. He asked me to detonate the bomb in Megaton and I refused. Later on I dimed him out to Simms and Simms and I went to apprehend him. Simms was killed and Burke launched a hit squad on me and I couldn't stop them. I didn't have sufficient enough Explosives XP, so I had to start over from the Vault exit. The second go round, Burke didn't show up in Moriarty's at all. I made sure I had enough Explosives XP to diable the bomb this time.

Curious... any of you decide to help Burke detonate the bomb in Megaton? Is the story line radically different that way? Second (well, actually, third) go round, that's what I plan to do. Hmmmm. I wonder if Burke sent the Mercs after me for disabling the Bomb... I'm going to have to pay him a visit in Tenpenny, I think. :tasvir:

Also, I've already visited Paradise Falls. After realizing what it was, I immediately killed the gaurds at the entrance thinking it would bring down my Karma (they were being assholes). I met a slave kid and he asked me to free his friends. I told him I'd think about it and planned to return. I already have a lot of loose ends!

It's been a good weekend. I went from Level 8 XP to Level 14. I appreciate the Bobblehead information thus far and it is now a priority. I may be asking for some more locations later on because I visited Rivet City, spoke with Dr. Li and totally missed the bobblehead there. I have to up my Sneak XP.

Off to work now. :( Hopefully I'll get a chance for an hour or two tonight.

Oh... one more thing... While in Rivet City, I noticed that 2 missions go through there. I was looking for Dad and information on the runaway android so I kept switching primary missions while there. I was tasked to talk to Dr. Preston regarding the android and investigating the mysterious "Pinkerton" character. Preston didn't have much to say and I couldn't find much out about Pinkerton except he was a rumored to be a ghost haunting the "Bow" section of the boat... ??? I decided to find Canterbury Commons to see if more info on either was there.

This game is fucking awesome! :soma:

I started this again a few days ago after reading this.
Played it to death when it first came out.
After 2 1/2 days I'm at lvl 13 with a lot of the map explored.
I always find it a good idea to follow the main plot until
Then I go off and freelance it for a while

Heres a good charater build tip, at the beginning set your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. with your Strength at 8 and Intelligence at 9, when you leave vault 101, run to Megaton and head south go around the west side of megaton and look for a rock surrounded by 4 dead trees, the rock is hollow, it has a sniper and some ammo in it, run to the southern end of the map than run east, avoid as much combat as possible, get to Rivet City and pick up the Intelligence bobblehead, when you level up you will now get the max available # of skill points, then when the perk comes that lets you get 3 more skill points get it immediately, same with the comprehension perk (hold onto all skill books until then) you SHOULD max out your charater at around level 18 or 19 if you pick up enough skill books

the next thing you want to do from there is save Megaton and then go into Lucas Simms house, on the second floor in his room is the Strength bobblehead, that should put your strength at 9, no go to the Super-Duper Mart and keep heading south until Brian Wilks appears, go through the THOSE! quest (i suggest getting a hunting rifle and about 150 rounds of ammo first, the entemologist perk helps, but its best to do this quest at a low level) if you spare the queen, talk to Lesko, and take the "ant might" perk, your strength will now be 10, don't touch any of the other S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bobbleheads until you get the "almost perfect" perk, and there are few perks actualy worth getting, so don't be afraid of the intense training perk, especialy since a few key perks will be a bit low for this strategy

I have the Strength and Intelligence Bobbleheads now. I'm glad The BurgerKing said something because I would have never known to pick these up.

On my way to Vault 112 to find dear old Dad... I bumped into Evergreen Mills on the way and found a colony of slaver Raiders. Dad can wait for now. :tasvir:

Speaking of Lesbians, I think you would like the movie Jennifer's Body, Baba... Meagan Fox... nuff' said.

Well, I'm at level 15 now.... and I also found the Luck Bobblehead in Arlington cemetary all on my own!! :D

And I bumped into my first Deathclaw today... that didn't go well at all. :( I had to resort to my Alien Disentegrater and a few Bottlecap Mines to kill them. I also found Tenpenny Tower... I'm not going in just yet, but it's marked for future reference.

Off to the Evergreen Mills tommorrow and then to Vault 112.

Psst, Evergreen Mills contains another bobblehead, but it also has a Behemoth in an electrified cage. Note the generator. ;)
    :gul:

I've pinged him from the cliffs, I've popped the genset from there as well as just going up and opening the gate.

(There's another between there and Jury St Station, there's a trigger for him to appear, see if you can find it.)

Back at the Mills, when you finally battle your way inside, there's a merchant you have two choices with, either kill him and take his shotgun, which is a specialty item, or let him live and he will come in handy later on for goods.
I'm also going to say work on your pickpocket skills, not so much to rip anyone off but to put things in their pockets. One of your objectives in the game is to slip a hit landmine/grenade into a bad guy's pocket. Hilarity ensues!
    "Holy shit!!!" *boom!*

Another is to help your merchants on the trail. If you can slip some power armor or since the Enclave armor is better, a set of that, in their pockets, don't take anything, then it will help them stay alive longer. You will get a negative ping for your gesture but considering they will likely die if you don't somewhere later on in the game, it is worth the ping.

I didn't get to mine early enough on this run and returned from Point Comfort to find two, Doc and Harith, dead. Harith I found but I still haven't found Doc's body.
Wolfgang and Crow now sport Hellfire Armor. :techman: Neither have taken a hit though Crow's guard did, I happened across them and they were getting hit by SM and the guard got hit a couple of times before I could draw the fire to me.

Besides, some purified water to the water beggers and a donation to the church of your choice will bring the karma back up so don't sweat it. You want to save before you do so if you get caught you can go back and try again until you succeed. They won't put it right on but they will have it on the next time you see them.

I just arm them to the teeth and put them in armor. :gul:

Shorty has a minigun and Red a scoped .44. :D

Sticky I usually walk with, he's such a jabberjaw with his stories it's too funny to tell him to shut up.
I put him in Point C garb, a confederate hat and coveralls this time.

:diacanu: I wanna boff Bittercup. Might as well, everyone else has.

I have never had good luck walking up on Big Town, once a Deathclaw ran in before I could get there and killed them all. I backed up.
Big Town also has different options for defense, either you handle it,or they do with the help of robots but my science/med is usually high and I have yet to see robots there.

Let's see... I found Vault 112 and completed Tranquility Lane and found dear old Dad. For an old guy,he took off to Rivet City like a bat out of hell! I finaly caught up with him and let him know that I wanted to complete a few more missions before I joined him to cokmplete Project Purity.

After we split, I went to Evergreen Mills in search for the Barter Bobblehead. I wiped the floor up with the first Mutant Behometh, but the second on the way to Jury Station cleaned my clock a few times.

So now that Dad is safe, I can tie up a few loose ends. Namely, Greyditch. Fire. Breathing. ANTS! Right now, I'm in the tunnels between MArigold and Falls Church trying to find the Fire Ant Queen's lair. Some asshole scientist is down here and gave me a misson. After this,I'm of to Paradise Falls and later, back to Rivet City with Dad.

I can't find the Elder Lyons person in order to get training for the BOS armor. I have a set of that one and a set of Enclave Armor, but I can't wear either.... I guess it's worth noting that Strength, Intelligence and Luck are now at all 10's.... I've also acquired 100 XP in the Repair category. Lockpicks, Science and Barter are all in the high 70's or low 80's. I have to dedicate more resources to Sneak. I just hate finding a locked door and have to leave because my lockpick skills are too low.

I have the Bobbleheads for Strength, Intelligence, Luck, Barter and Repair now. The Barter was tricky. I was about to blast the trader behind a counter in The Evergreen Mills Bazaar away after he made a threatening comment, but I thought about Caboose's warning that some people come in handy later on and I decided to let him live. I wonder about those 2 guards in Paradise Falls that I offed. Oh well. Oh... and my karma is back to neutral....

There is one way to forgo the Power Armor training that gunny provides at the Citidal, since in order to get in the place you have to do the gig with Dad.

In your Pip-Boy you'll find a task called Aiding The Outcasts. Do that and you can wear it.

There's also a glitch in that run that can provide you with weapons and armor that last without having to be repaired at every turn, one I managed to exploit. :D

Grouse was one of the two front guards at Paradise Falls and he had an item on him, the Mesmatron, which is use to enslave victims. Read the paperwork that came with it, it can be an amusing item to use for such douchbags as Moriority but it has to be done just so or everyone else will go red and attack you. It has to be you, the target, an armed bystander who doesn't see you flash the target.
    Again, hilarity ensues!

Gob now owns the bar, heh. :D

The Outcasts are a bit of the prickish in nature, but the haul from that run will help up your sneak 15 with a garment, which I hinted at earlier.

Neuteral Karma is ok, there are objectives to be met in that as well, but to get it back up there's always water beggars and the different churches to donate to.

That nutty scientist will give you his labcoat if played right, worth iirc 10 or 15 on the science.

Wait till you meet Fawkes, a "meta-human" as he puts it, he'll be a great help in the quest.

if you go to the outcast home base and give them enough tech, they will let you enter the base which yeilds an interesting (but second most useless) weapon

    :gul:

Or you can just pick the lock and get it. :D

Of course you may or may not have to fight your way out of the place, it's gone both ways for me.

Besides, their trades for tech are akin to bending over since there are other avenues to sell and aquire goods at a much better exchange rate.

My first runs I was a good toad, later on I realized it was a futile effort to try to get them to let me in, perhaps I didn't give them enough tech to hit that mark so I took to just going in which is probably why they don't like me so much this run.

Oops. I think I killed her along with everyone else in Bigtown! This is awkward....

I have the Mesmetron in my home in Megaton. I Mezzed the Merc in Moira's store and he didn't seem to like that very much. I was not sure how to use it so I just left it in the locker. I really want to kill him for all of his snide comments, but I like Moira and I want to continue doing business with her.

Well, if you killed everyone in Big Town, that would explain the shift to neutral karma.
No Lucky Eight Ball for you!
Bittercup gives you crap she finds when you visit, that is if she's alive.

Yea, Moira's merc is a snide bastard but short of setting off the bomb, (moira survives) I've yet to get the chance to take him out without pissing off the town. There are times it can be done I believe though, I just haven't pushed it yet.

    OK... I'm stuck...

I'm trying to get through the Operation Anchorage simulation now.... I've just been given my own command and I can't find the enemy Chinese camp. I'm trying to take out the Chimera camp and on the way, I find this Ice camp... We promptly take it and kill all the Chineese soldiers there, but I can't go on to Chimera. The exit is blocked by a barrier. What do I do?

There's three paths to follow all starting from the area you meet outside the General's tent. to the left as you walk out of it. There are trenches to go through in one run, above ground for the other two. Check your Pip-Boy map.

If you tell the guy to go to the location he will take the team in the direction you need to go and stop short of attacking and will wait for you. Just follow him.

OK... I've finished the simulation (Thanks, Caboose!) and I decided to go finish up with Paradise Falls. This went a lot smoother than Evergreen Mills with my Armor and Alien Weapons!! I blasted Eulogy Jones' ass up against the wall. The Mercs don't give me much of a problem anymore either. I found the Speech Bobblehead on Jones' desk.... After this, I went back to Rivet City to complete Project Purity and some research for Moira. While I was there, I told Zimmerman the Android was dead and gave him the component some wanderer gave to me. I wish I hadn't have done that because now I'll have to wait until next time to find out more about the Android.

Also, I bumped into a bunch of Escaped slaves in some hollowed out building. So I have a mission waiting for them.

Project Purity took me back to the Jefferson Memorial and the Enclave attacked and ended up killing dear old Dad.... Dr. Li and I escaped to The Citadel and now I have a mission from there to enter Vault 87.

On my way to Vault 87, I bumped into some Enclave assholes scavenging another Alien crash site. I tried using my Stealthboy and Hidden mode to sneak up on them, but it didn't work... I did end up getting a shitload more of those Alien Powercells... and I pieced together how and why the Enclave seems to have superior technology.

Oh... and Uncle Leo, the friendly mutant died... :( He was attacked by 3 radioscorpions.

    This game is so addicting!

Yea, so far Uncle Leo is still alive in this run, but he showed up near the Anchorage Memorial of all places and has like two bars left.
    "Hell-o lit-tle brother!"

Radscorpions are bad enough, but the albino variety are really pretty tough to kill.

Vault 87 will be an adventure and you willl finally meet Fawkes, a valuable candidate for the companion position.

Speaking of companions, have you found Dogmeat yet?

Yes... I took him back to my Megaton House and I told him to meet me at Vault 101... He wasn't there when I went to get him... I wonder if the scorpions got him too. :(

Sometimes it takes him a while to get there, I'd give it a little time.

If something happens to him, or any of your companions, there is a pop up box to inform you of their demise, it would say "Dogmeat is dead." and you'd have to click Ok to continue.

Same popup holds true if you go to The Pitt or Point Lookout, but it says they have returned to their prospective places.
    Dogmeat would go to 101.
    Fawkes goes to Underworld.
    Charon goes to Underworld.
    etc.

( BTW, I said Point Comfort up there a few posts. :bang: :ramen: )

Edit: If Dogmeat needs a stimpack the dialogue will appear to do so when you talk to him. He regenerates a one bar loss I believe, but beyond that you have to give him one.

So I'm on my way to Vault 87, and I bump into a shitload of Talon Company Mercs! It turns out that I'd stumbled upon Fort Bannington or something, the Talon Co. HQ. :tasvir: it took me a while, but I killed everyone in the entire facility!! Even a Commander Jacobsen or something. I hope I don't get bugged by those assholes again.

When I finally reach lamplight lantern, I'm greeted by a bunch if snot-nosed kids that actually run this community. I'm able to hack into a door that leads to Vault 87. The only alternative was a path the kids called "Murder Pass." Um... No.

So I finally enter Vault 87 and Dogmeat shows up in the middle if a fight with some Super Mutants! Luckily, I had about 40 Stimpaks in me caked this one Mutant overlord had a gun called a "Tri-beam Laser" that really puts a hurting on me! I killed him and several more like him... Since my repair skills are at 100+, I was able to get about 3 of these in mint condition! It's good too because I was just about to run out if Alien Ammo.

So while I'm exploring Vault 87, I begin to suspect that this was the source if the Super Mutants... There was some evolutionary experimentation going on. I'll investigate thus more later. I'm here fit the G.E.C.K. The Garden if Eden Creation Kit... The key to Project Purity and my Dad's last wishes.

I finally bump into Fawkes... An intellectual Super Mutant that is thankful to me for being released from prison. He actually goes into a radiation infested room to retrieve the GECK for me. We split, and soon as I do, The Enclave attacks, takes the GECK and takes me to thier headquarters. It takes a minute, but I soon realize that I'm in Raven Rock... The level Caboose warned me about. I save the level, look aroundand find the Electronic Weapons Bobblehead!

I also bump into President Eden... Let's just say he's not what I expected. Eden wants me to drop a vial if a chemical in to the Project Purity machine and this will kill all the "mutated life" in the wasteland. I tell him I'll think about it, but I won't do that, and leave to report back to Elder Lyons from the BOS.

if you hack the computer near the bobblehead, you can get a code that you can use to blow Raven Rock up, or you CAN talk the president into blowing it up himself

Yea, it's weird, dogmeat shows at the most unopprotune times usually when I'm getting hammered on so then you have to cover his furry hide too.

You almost have to too, the first or second time he did that I couldn't cover his ass and he was whacked.
Another time he fell from one of the overpasses, some are pretty fractured but manuverable without companios with. If I suspect harm will come to them I'll tell them to wait, but that's gotten them wacked too while I was off elsewhere.

Once was the very place you stmbled upon, I left him in the field safe and sound while I went in and mopped up and something killed him. Of course this was before I learned my lesson on saves, and had to go back a helluva longways to get him back.
