As the article mentions, when her daughter had stomach cramps, she made the mistake of mentioning the pills...hence her arrest. But even with those possible side effects, abortion is still safer than carrying a baby to term, and even moreso with teenaged girls. I understand why there needs to be a control for these pills but this:

Reread the OP. First counseling then return in 24 hrs. So either stay overnight or make two trips.

My issue is that this is that it is a jailable offense at all because of the bullshit counseling filter at clinics that prolong and impede what should be a simple procedure. It doesn't take that long to figure out if one can support a baby financial of mentally. With this family barely able to afford one car for work, it's pretty clear where they lie.

Its about the same as a parent giving their kid some oxy or Xanax and then the kid ends up in a hospital.

And to the best of my knowledge, you can't just walk in and get an abortion after a short wait. Its usually an initial visit which might include a counseling session and then a scheduled procedure.

The nosie, big government loving Jesus freaks won't be happy until young women are found dead in back alleys once again. They love big government they just want to use big government to force their religious beliefs on to everyone else and to loot as much as possible for their special interest masters. I don't think the counseling is 'bullshit'. And I don't think you can get an abortion quick like its an oil change.

Except you have a constitutional right to have an abortion according to the SCotUS and you don't have a constitutional right to get high. The very fact that these backwards states put such draconian restrictions in place is damn near a criminal act in my mind. The bastards who create these laws certainly should be tried for murder when they kill young women.

I don't get the folks here. You can't take your kids tonsils out at home. Yes, they have the right to have it removed but by a DOCTOR. You got back pains, you must get a legit scrip for painkillers. Plus this is a minor child here.

The complications in getting an abortion are bullshit and need to go. But doing your own private little abortion without medical staff or expertise isn't the solution. That's just dangerously irresponsible.

The morning after pill is perfectly safe if used as directed and that is why it is sold over the counter without a prescription in non-taliban controlled states.

It has gotten even easier to get since I last checked. Now it is off the shelf with no age restriction. About 10 years ago I tried to buy some but was told I couldn't because I was a man so my girlfriend at the time had to get it and show her id to prove she was over 16 (she was 24 at the time). That other states don't also sell it as easy as asprin is a crime against women.
