No answer for my question either? Given that Nova bends over backwards to support her wife and kids in every possible way aside from continuing to pretend she's a normal man when she isn't, just what exactly do you expect her to do for them? Where is the selfishness? Why is their opinion and comfort level more important that Nova's mental health?
No I have not. I made a very specific comment on a very specific topic (which has nothing whatsoever about Nova's state of mind) and you guys are trying to expand my comments to mean things they don't mean.
So putting aside all the Nova stuff which is quite boring mind you..... What's up with the Clyde-Ancalagon thing? Is it a feuding cause I swear I heard dueling banjos while reading that little group of posts.
You'd be surprised I'm sure. It works fine with civilized folks, not so well with others. Not unlike if you had a white girlfriend, for instance. As for Azure's soapbox - there's a thread in the Blue Room that would at least make his little pontifications more informed, which apparently he can't be arsed to skim over.
do you EVER read to find out that which you do not know, or do you just form opinions without the benefit of information?
You're asking someone on Wordforge that question? Why don't you just ask him the meaning of life while you're at it.......
No, when it comes to my intent I'm actually quite an authority. Whereas you merely have your subjective, and highly biased perception to go on.
Wouldn't mind knowing myself, it's clear he's been upset with me for quite awhile but I'm not sure why. And he's not saying.
Much better! Good to see you can have a sense of humor... Or is that just more of my very subjective, and highly biased truth?
Here's a hypothetical situation: Nova grows up a good Muslim, gets married to a Muslim wife, has Muslim kids and is completely devout. She has the continuous nagging thought in the back of her head that things aren't right, but assumes that just means she has to pray harder to Allah, to try even harder. The questions and evidence grow in her mind though until one day she realizes that she is actively living a lie. She keeps up the charade though for her family, following empty ritual to not disappoint her family and community, inside though she has not been Muslim for a long time. Finally one day the stress of pretending to be something she knows she is not gets too much. She gathers her family and tells them she is Christian, and knows her new beliefs to be true. Not an exact analogy, but I think it works. No matter what any of our opinions on Nova and her belief, it is clear that it is very that she 100% believes it to be true. Not only that but to continue to lie would destroy her. Apostle, are you really saying that in the situation I laid out here, she would be wrong to admit true Christian feelings? That it would be selfish to not keep lying and sacrificing her soul in the process?
That's when we chop the infidels damn head off!!!! How dare she abandon Islam the only true religion.
Yeah I was around. Never paid much attention though. That first post is a great example of what I'm talking about. I was overweight and obese back in the day too. High school was hell because of it. Decided one day that was enough and starting eating right and hitting the gym. Soon enough I was within a reasonable weight level, and from there on out things got easier. Now I'm happy with who I am, and I don't struggle with depression issues. Its a common cycle that is happening all the time. I'm sure all of us knew kids in school that were the same way. If Nova decides he wants to be a girl, fine by me. I just think there are perhaps other methods to solving the problem. Loosing weight and gaining back some self confidence would be a good start.
So in your mind, a man who's unhappy and maybe a little overweight is likely to respond to that by going "Hey, I know! I must really be a woman!" in response to ... unhappiness about packing a few extra pounds?
The obvious difference in your analogy is that the guy actually DOES change his religious, whereas Nova just tells people he's a girl, but technically is still a guy. Either way, not sure how you can compare the two. People convert from one religion to another all the time.
Its a common response for obese people to feel depressed about themselves. Go from there if you want. I'm just sayin'...
Going from there to "... and I must really be a woman" would be a pretty big leap if there were absolutely nothing else going on, don't you think?
It's a horrible analogy, actually. Look, NOVA is obviously in a lot of pain. As he is not garment or Mewa, I hate that. I think that he is making destructive choices that will continue to hurt him though.
