The guy is from "Prince Edward Island."

Next thing you know, they'll be telling us Anne Shirley is helping Dr. Blythe administer the shots.

It's interesting to watch our boy Frontline and the rest of the Trumpistas calling for Fauci's head. Does that mean that Covid was real after all despite their Fearless Leader calling it a hoax? Cognitive dissonance at work.

I really think there should be some sort of test - maybe an ASVAB before running for office.

In her case, I think reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" without moving her finger to the words would rule her out.

Don't know that one off the top of my head. But google says it looks like a "beginning reader book. So, yes, I agree.

But seriously, ... how can a person be expected to make legislative decisions for an entire country, if she doesn't understand basic science? I mean, I'm not Michael Severino, but I sure as hell know voting Republican will not change how viruses mutate.

While MTG is a moron, I have my sincere doubts anyone who makes a career of politics are actually stupid. They know how to manipulate people for their own gain and just don't care.

Well, if she passed the test, then went on to say stupid shit, then there would be cause for a lawsuit from someone in her district - I mean, ... Look at the last time. Her response to her "having her eyes opened" about the holocaust was the she "didn't know". If she can pass an ASVAB with a 90% she damn well knows the holocaust was real and that voting won't change a virus's mutations.

Nope. You'll have to take my word for it. :D
The Trumpistas are also blaming Biden for the rise in gas prices. Interesting since the reason gas prices were so low was that the economy was in a state of Covid-induced paralysis induced by Trump's incompetence dealing with the virus. When gas prices were low, unemployment skyrocketed. As the economy recovered and unemployment started going down, gas prices went up. Context is the enemy of the ideologue.

I went and looked a while back to see if this country had experienced any periods without inflation.

Turns out lack of inflation, and outright deflation, are pretty much exclusively associated with massive unemployment and economic depressions.

Dead parishioners don't pay tithes though.

If for no other reason, you'd think faith leaders would nudge them towards the vaccines or fake a vision from God a la Tevye from "Fiddler on the Roof" or something

 God disagrees: I don't allow non-vaccinateds into My army.

    Not surprising.

Most of the cases we have had in Australia since mid last year have started spreading locally due to the virus escaping from quarantine. One such situation involved someone in hotel quarantine becoming infected because they opened their door to collect food after the person across the corridor had opened and then closed their door to also collect a food drop off.

Last week, one of the guys I work with, we were discussing how weird it is not to wear a mask. He went into a grocery store, and didn't have his mask on. He said he felt so weird and naked that he went back to his car to get a mask. I feel the same way that I'll wear one even though I'm vaccinated and stores and business here don't require one if you are vaccinated. I think some of us are going to feel like that for a while. Around here, about 90% of the people were wearing masks until March, now it's down to around 15-20%, even though the vaccination rate for the state is 44% for at least one dose and 37% for guilt vaccinated. But the county I live in is at 32% for one dose and 29% for fully vaccinated. Fucking idiots, fuck them if they get sick.

He didn't call it that, but Boris Johnson today declared the abandonment of restrictions and that the UK will attempt to achieve herd immunity via mass infection.
This is days after putting a dodgy banker in charge of the Ministry of Health.

I've never been so glad for devolution. Hopefully he doesn't end up creating a vaccine-resistant variant.
