Mask mandates have been shown to be largely ineffective.

Many studies on individual masking has shown a substantial decrease in transmission.

People don't use their masks if you tell them they have to. They wear them under their nose, they lie about wearing them, they take them off to eat in public in enclosed spaces, etc ad nauseum.

I saw a woman walking her dogs alone in a park the other day. She was wearing a mask. Alone. No human within 300 feet of her. She's the moron.

If a health intervention requires strong individual commitment and continuous vigilance to work, then ipso facto it's not a very good one.

The efficacy of masks also depends largely on the type: N95 vs cloth is night and day. I am unaware of any mandate in the world that demanded N95s.

The argument always boils down to "masks would work if only [insert a bunch of things that won't happen].

No smoking guns, but it sure sounds like something bad happened in early Nov. 2019 at WIV. I feel much less equipped to understand CCP-ese than virology data, but if this is accurate, it sure sounds like a lab leak is not dismissible. There’s definitely a plausible narrative that stainless steel walls around a HEPA filter were corroded by cleaning chemicals and the virus was blown into a lower safety-level lab where it infected someone. Again, if the readings are accurate.

The CDC has a Morbidity and Mortality podcast. Essentially, this is a recording of medical professionals discussing unusual deaths in their facilities. Methinks that someone wanting to get ahead of pandemic news would be well served by listening to it.

hmmm....Iran, China and possibly Russia may be nearing the critical mass of people willing to die to overthrow their tyrannical governments...or they may not Interesting that it would happen in those very different places essentially at the same time.
