Sure, go into school tomorrow and tell them you don't want them telling your kid (if such an unfortunate soul exists) that Hitler didn't gas Jews or that 2-squared isn't 4.
Guess what two things you are? If you said "wrong" and "a poopie head," you're right! That probably wasn't your answer though, because "right" isn't one of the two things you are, "wrong" is. The other thing is "a poopie head."
Are we talking about actual knowledge, or the fairy tale wish magic of umpteen gender identities? Only one is required learning.
DING DING DING Here it is, the admission that this isn't actually about parental freedom to dictate how other people address their children or anything like that, but simply that UA believes all the individuals involved are mistaken.
Again, for the third time, a very easy question. In the real situation I gave, where I subsequently addressed a student for the rest of the year by the name they asked and used with other students, was I ignoring the rights of the parents by not getting a signed declaration from them before doing so?
It is their right to insist you clear it with them. They may or may not care, but that's not your call to make.
Ok, but in this case there had been no prior communication with or from them on this issue (as I suspect would be true in the vast majority of similar situations, at least based on my admittedly anecdotal evidence of discussions with other educators). There was no trap or unstated circumstances in my example, ai provided the full context and information which I had on hand. You keep trying to change the question or situation. By addressing that student in the way they requested was I ignoring the rights of the parents and using that classroom as a personal soap box with a captive audience required to listen?
Again, not what you said. You shifted from general discussion to dismissing any change in perceived gender as pretense. In many of those situations who the fuck are you or I to make the judgement call on whether the initial label was correct? Maybe the individual involved just decided to make their life harder for no good reason on a lark. Or maybe they have truly spent their entire life with their whole self-awareness screaming at them that it's not right. Or maybe they were born intersex and the doctors/parents made a call on what direction to go, which later turns out to have been the wrong one. Or maybe they physically presented completely as one sex, but unknowingly had different chromosomes which started making themselves known at puberty. Or maybe they fit into one of the many other circumstances in that 1% you have decided can be dismissed as irrelevant. At a glance I can't know, and the arrogance required to assume that you can and can make a better call on what the correct way to address someone is over their entire and unknown to you life experience is truly mind boggling.
Mods, please change Uncle Albert's name to "The Wrong Poopie-Headed Sea Lion of Poopie-Headed Wrongness"?
Arrogance is presuming to know better than the parents, then taking action behind their backs. The options are not limited to a signed declaration, but they do NOT include deliberately hiding things from the parents. And that is responsive to your repeated attempts at false equivalence, because no teacher would ever feel the need to hide it from the parents when little Robert wants to be called Bob.
Oh yeah, because cumming inside someone/getting cummed in makes you an expert in all subjects that lesser people have to study for years.
Is that the answer to this question then? If so what makes you think anything was hidden from parents?
We all have/had parents, and you think you're smarter than the lot of us, so you think you know better than our parents. QED. Arrogant shitstain.
Oh, ok. So do we get to disregard the wishes of parents on ALL subjects, or is this one special for some reason?
Jesus fucking christ, you are one tedious individual. Alright, so in your narrow example that has absolutely fuckall to do with the actual topic at hand, no, getting advance permission from parents would probably not be warranted or demanded.
Most if not all subjects, I'd imagine. Are there any particular subjects there you think the opinion of two randos that happened to get laid is more authoritative than people that study those subjects for a living?
So, where do you stand on kids getting vaccinated even though their parents are anti-vax? Are you cool with it, or do you think that kids should have to wait until they're 18 to get vaccinated? Because I can tell you, that the folks who don't like kids using a different name at school often have the same views when it comes to vaccines (regardless of politics).
The actual topic at hand that I gave my example in response to was this, which I present in exactly the way you quoted it:
Give the parents advance notice so they can decide whether they want their kids in a school that requires vaccinations, and I'm fine with it.
So, UA is just going to do the whole "bigotry isn't bigotry if I frame it this way and that way" game until his dying breath, huh?
Bigotry is a claim you must support with more than "he doesn't indulge me exactly how I want, when I want, without question or objection." I am strictly live and let live. (Go ahead and clip that for your dumb shit strawman) Going behind parents backs and/or presenting "gender identity" as required learning does not qualify.
shouldn't that requirement be the default presumption? with children being a distinct vector of communicable disease and all, the expectation that the little germbags should be inoculated before entering a public space isn't unreasonable.
Bull-fucking-shit. All school subjects are "behind parent's backs" unless they watch on a camera all fucking day. Trans people exist. Kids need to be told they exist as surely as apples, oranges, schoolbuses, leaves, dogs, cats, goats, etc, etc. The only way to whitewash them, and for the whitewash to not be a lie, is to genocide them to make objective reality conform with the Authoritarian Christian fairy tale. And that's not "live and let live", is it? I knew about trans people as a kid from bad 80's comedies. And the opinions of bigot relatives. It wasn't a good education, and it didn't serve me well. I have nothing good to say about it. There are no misty wistful memories to summon. If "wokism" can prevent the next me, do it. Woke the shit out of it.
