I think they could. I've reevaluated my thoughts on the SEC being dominate and I just don't see it anymore. College Football in general is bad this year, that includes the SEC. Fuck LSU, they lost twice, that's too many for a "national champion." They don't deserve it. They could have easily lost 5 times this season, things just happen to go their way in 3 of those games.
Which reminds me, Guy Morriss and Francione were successful coaches in the SEC. They came to the Big 12 and assumed the role of bitch. Not even an SEC coach can make it in the Twelve.
Utter hogwash!!! You're a fucking football snob, Vandy. If it isn't a team with a "storied history" then they're obviously unworthy in your eyes. What BULLSHIT! You sound just as bad as all those Coasties who think the rest of the country is a "flyover". If Mizzou is to get to the BCS title game, they'll need to avenge their only loss--to a Top Ten team--in addition to having beaten three other ranked teams along the way. Oh, and BTW, they're the only team in the country to score 30+ points in every single game this year. So it becomes obvious to me that you're either: a) talking out your ass, b) not a true fan of the game, c) some combination thereof. Fuckin' Football Snob! Hell no, I will not pass the Grey Poupon!
What the fuck? Even the damn cops are against us! Saw this during the game, been waiting for the clip! [yt=uSpfyIaS6wE]uSpfyIaS6wE[/yt]
When I glanced at that photo and saw the colors, I though it was Eli Manning. The poster still applies.
Dear college football bowl system: Please stop jumping the shark. It wasn't funny the first ninety million times you did it and it's not funny now. If you're that desperate for teams to fill out your bloated bowl schedule, I'm sure there are some very deserving Division II teams who would be positively delighted with a bowl invite. While you're at it, send all these #6's and 7's and 8's to this "International Bowl"/"Meineke Bowl"/"Champ Sports Bowl" nonsense and quit dumping on established bowls. Unless you've always dumped on the Humanitarian and Independence Bowls and the like, in which case quit dumping on them anyway. Sincerely, Me
Agreed, I'll cheer for my Pokes in whatever toilet bowl they get, but a 6-6 team shouldn't sniff a bowl game. It's rewarding mediocrity.
Don't worry flow, I'm quite likely to see some similar thing come back at me, should Mizzou fail this weekend. And if the Tigers happen to win...well, I gots more respect for the Sooners than I'll ever have for those Chickenhawks or whatever they're called. So it'd be highly unlikely I'd ever post anything similar against the Sooners.
So what is everyone hearing on the coaching carousel? Nutt out at Arkansas, takes Mississippi job. Leach being mentioned at both Arkansas and UCLA ESPN is reproting that Art Briles of Houston is taking the Baylor job. Francione to SMU? A&M hires Mike Sherman. Pelini or Turner Gill to Nebraska? If Miles goes to Michigan who goes to LSU?
I hope Leach goes. I'm a fan of Leach and I'm a fan of Tech. His scheme won't work any better at Tech next year than it has in the past but I would love to see him pull it at UCLA with better players. Tech needs a more traditional style of game (both sides of the ball) to have a 9 or 10 win season and win a conference title. I will pull for Leach anywhere he goes though (except for: USC, UT, OU, TCU, SMU, LSU, or any other pro team but the Cowboys).
This is the first I've heard about it. I shall immediately say ten War Eagles and light a candle to St. Shug.
So is it in the SEC charter that every five years you guys have to reshuffle coaches like some sort of wife swapping ice breaker?
Sorry evenflow, Gundy survives to see another season.... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3135249 What's funny is the headline for the story on the ESPN homepage, which says "He's a man, he's got a contract!"
Well on the bright side, hasn't Pinkel been on the hot seat for a few years, wallowing in mediocrity? I can dream. *Maybe we can get rid of Sutton...
The Oklahoma governor better figure out what products he's putting up for his wager with Governor Blunt, just in case . . .
When Mizzou loses to Oklahoma we can be treated to an Ohio State-West Virginia title game. What a crapfest.
USC 2007 PAC-10 Champions!! This is their 6th consecutive PAC-10 title!! Fight on! Bring on the Rose Bowl!!
Mizzou rallied back. Damn, could these halftime analysts be anymore transparent? All they're talking about is what will happen if OU wins and WVU loses. They won't even acknowledge that Mizzou tied it up. They're hugely biased against the idea of Mizzou in the title game.
