Total embarrasment. OSU plays like a team with no pride whatsoever. The non-existant Cowboy defense is making this nobody Troy QB look like fucking Peyton Manning. They're abusing OSU like a washed-up Vick pit bull.
Fucking hell, the OSU QB can't even throw a 15 yard pass without skipping it off the ground after 10 yards. If OSU has any chance to salvage the season, then Gundy must go immediately. This should be his last game of the season. Losing is one thing, but rolling over to lower-level team and not even making it competitive is unforgivable.
Well, I see that when the OSU QB isn't using his noodle arm to skip 10 yard passes off the ground, he throws it to the wrong team. Of course, then Troy fumbles it right back. Which is good, because it serves to remind us that Troy isn't really this good. They're a scrub team playing a squad that doesn't look like they know why they're out there playing the game.
So that Georgia beat down on Okie State isn't looking really all that impressive any more, is it? Troy 34, Okie State 10 in the 3rd.
Well, maybe OSU will one day learn to actually hire a big-time coach, instead of using the good ole' boy alumni network to get beginner coaches like Gundy. OSU isn't Tulsa, it shouldn't be a school that thinks the best they can do is to give on-the-job training to rookie coaches. That's what the Troy's and Tulsa's of the world are for.
Gosh, I'm so glad someone reminded me that Oklahoma State was playing on ESPN2 tonight so I wouldn't miss it after I made pot roast for my husband's belated birthday celebration. What the fuck is going on? Flow, explain this!! 2 consecutive top 25 recruiting classes obviously don't mean jack shit this season. I know Gundy had to kick some trouble makers off the team last year to try and clean things up, but what the hell is the excuse now? Supposedly Troy went to a bowl last year. We've made the toilet bowl. That's a comfort.
I thought Gundy and company all had 5 year contracts as a sign of the "faith" the university higher ups had in them. Meh. I lived in Bennett Hall for awhile. Gundy was a real prick. I don't feel that sorry for him.
A coach that can't motivate his team to at least be competitive is worthless. OSU just rolled over and let this team fuck them in the ass tonight. Their body language tonight just screamed "we don't want to be here playing this game."
Hell, I'm out of the loop after last week. What was the deal with Bobby Reid and starting whatshisname in his place? I had three family birthdays this week.
That was pathetic. I was watching it at the Fox Sports bar last night and there were a whole bunch of real quiet Okie State fans who all looked utterly beaten down. Is State the new Baylor?
Missed most of it thanks to work, but the dawgs came off that...embarrsing loss last week to win 45-16
The Baptist/ex-Catholic in me enjoyed watching Michigan absolutely destroy Notre Dame like that...and they pitched a shut-out no less!.
God! How many interceptions have the Huskers thrown that SC ran back to inside the 2 yard line or for a TD? 5? Crap! The QB almost did it again just now! The defender would have run it back for an uncontested TD. All I know is Nebraska was up 10-7, then they were down 35-10 pretty damn quick. EDIT--42 to 10 now. At least this TD wasn't off an interception.
Yeah, this is gonna be an ugly season. At least Tuberville had the nerve to yank Cox. The boy has got to go.
Ok, gather 'round. It's time for Ash's College Football Musings. 1. OSU . . . damn. How slow do you have to be on defense? Find a quarterback for Christ's sake. Two badass talents at reciever and your QB throws like a girl. 2. Michigan . . . you still suck. 3. Notre Dame . . . you are the worst team I've seen all year. At this rate the Irish will be lucky to win 2 games. 4. Auburn . . . sorry guys . . . you aren't any good. You're lucky to have anything in the win column so far this season. 5. Texas still sucks dick by choice. Seriously, how do you go from National Champs two years ago to this garbage? Tied with A&M for Most Decieving 3-0 Record. 6. LSU, OU, and Florida should be 1,2 and 3. In that order. 7. Mike Leach is an evil genius. Every year, I predict Tech's downfall and every year they look the same. Dangerous. 8. The Big East needs to grow a defense . . . and a pair of testicles. 9. Les Miles is stupid if he goes to Michigan after this year. 10. Mike Goodson is the best running back you'll never hear about on ESPN. Dude is flat out filthy.
Oh, look. USC's lead over LSU increased after they demolished a good Nebraska team in Lincoln. Personally I'd rate it: LSU USC Florida Oklahoma USC's needs to work on it's passing game, but that should work itself out by the end of the year. And even then on a neutral site I'd say the only team I've seen that I would expect to beat them is LSU. But lots of football along the way. Actually the SEC may shoot itself in the foot this year, unless either LSU or Florida shows dominance. They play against each other in the middle point of the season, then likely again in the Championship game. You could have each of them win 1 game, and I wouldn't be surprised at all by a split.
A&M is 16 in one poll and 20 in the other. That is just not realistic. Texas is 6 in one poll and 7 in the other, that is a flat out lie. Texas hasn't done anyting remotely impressive this season. They managed to edge out two wins that should have been blowouts and they beat a TCU that we found out was overrated when they lost to Air Force this week. Texas should be about 18 or 20 at best and A&M should have stayed around 20 to 22. OU is going to run away with the Big XII this year, they might just hang 50 on Texas the way they're looking. I agree with Ash's top 3. LSU, OU, and Florida. And I'd like to take this opportunity to say "haha" to NBC who is stuck in a contract with Notre Dame. I'd also like to say "haha" to Notre Dame who's only real chance for a win in their first 8 games is in a few weeks when they play Purdue. They are going to be thoroughly embarrassed on national TV over and over and over again all season long. Anyone think it might be time to change that BCS bowl rule yet?
Something to keep in mind, the OU bandwagon monster is a funny thing, just when they, the media and their fans think they're invincible, they have a total collapse the second someone punches them in the mouth. Texas is overrated, I agree, but they've found ways to win and come back from behind. Remember, OU has only played at home, against mostly inferior opponents. It wouldn't surprise me to see Texas give them a a game, and win. OSU 2001 & 02, Kansas State, 2004(3?) Big XII Title game, USC,...
Nah, OU isn't really that impressive yet. They are beating up on bodidley tech - they looked like this back in the Bob Stoop heyday years, until the games Evenflow mentioned. Miami isn't a weak team, but they aren't particularly strong either. OU definitely is a top 5 team, but I wouldn't expect them to run away from the Big 12 quite yet.
Oh, and for everyone ignoring the most successful program in the country over the last 5 years and the consensus #1 in their picks of the best teams, have you actually seen them play this year?
